Category talk:Counties of Wales

Why has this category been reverted? What is the purpose of this category if it contains all local authority areas - even those that AREN'T styled as counties? That makes it is a direct duplication of Category:Principal areas of Wales and is therefore entirely redundant. 84.92.28.92 (talk) 15:00, 31 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Perhaps it's the Category:Principal areas of Wales that "is therefore entirely redundant", Owain? The county boroughs are regularly referred to as counties, even by their own authorities and certainly by the media and the public at large. NOBODY uses the legislative term "principal area" and the vast majority of Welsh people have not even heard of it. Enaidmawr (talk) 15:31, 31 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
You're joking right? This is disruptive editing and PoV pushing of the highest order! Even if county boroughs were universally referred to as counties (which they are not, BTW) then it would still be wrong to label them as counties. This isn't a list of "what some people think", it is supposed to reflect reality. In any case at least one principal area doesn't style itself as a county or county borough. What do you intend to do with that? 84.92.28.92 (talk) 17:59, 1 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
