Notable politicians are those:
- Politicians who have held international, national or statewide/provincewide office, and members and former members of a national, state or provincial legislatures.5
- Major local political figures who have received significant press coverage.
- Just being an elected local official does not guarantee notability.

Suggestion edit
When the category becomes large enough to subdivide, the sub categories could include 'members of London-wide bodies' (ie taking pre- and post- 1965 boundaries), pre-1965 boroughs (Municipal and Metropolitan) and post- 1965, and possibly the City of London.
