Categories and subcategories edit

Re: Wikipedia:Categorization and subcategories, which states that an "article should not be in both a category and its subcategory," I removed the main category Category:Alumnae of women's universities and colleges from articles which also included subcategories listed on that page (such as Radcliffe College alumni, Smith College alumni etc.). I also did not remove the main category, Category:Alumnae of women's universities and colleges from articles which did not have a related subcategory. -Classicfilms 16:23, 14 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Why are all the entries in alumnae of women's colleges named something alumni? These should all be changed to something alumnae. And quickly too. 199.125.109.15 23:43, 9 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Agree Seems there's been no haste for this though. Daniel the Monk (talk) 20:24, 28 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Since the initial comment was made the categories were a mess on this point. They were finally made consistent at "alumni" after this CFD discussion last year. Timrollpickering (talk) 20:26, 28 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Oh my, it is now 2019 and graduates of women's colleges are STILL being called male graduates. Alas!Kcrdlb (talk) 18:31, 5 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
