This category was originally defined too vaguely as "works inspired by G&S". Now that it has been renamed & re-purposed more specifically as adaptations of works by G&S, some of the current members (pasted below) will need to be removed. Nevertheless it may be justifiable to create a new List of works featuring music by Gilbert and Sullivan.

And It's Surely to Their Credit - The Author's Ordeal - The Black Mikado - Chariots of Fire - The Cool Mikado - Dick Deadeye, or Duty Done - Doctor Who and the Pirates - Dr Sullivan and Mr Gilbert - The Elements (song) - Foul Play - The Foundation of S.F. Success - The Girl Said No (1937 film) - Hollywood Pinafore - Hot Mikado - The Hot Mikado (1939 production) - In Your Dreams (novel) - Me and My Girl - Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers - The Mikado (1939 film) - Mikado (comics) - My Musical - Pacific Overtures - Pineapple Poll - The Pirate Movie - Pirates of Penzance – The Ballet! - A Song to Sing O - Sumo of the Opera - The Swing Mikado - The Up-To-Date Sorcerer

There are of course others that could be listed e.g. Pretty Woman and Star Trek: Insurrection. – Fayenatic (talk) 14:20, 28 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

This was an ill-advised change, made against the wishes of the editors who work most steadily in this area, in particular, me, and without the advice or consent of the other major contributors in this area, User:Marc Shepherd and User: Tim riley. Many of the above-listed pieces are not adapatations, but merely pieces inspired by Gilbert and Sullivan or that include elements from a Gilbert and Sullivan work or the lives of Gilbert or Sullivan. -- Ssilvers (talk) 15:14, 28 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
