History

edit

The history of the CAT5 can be traced back to early 2000s. When the route begun operation, it was originally numbered 98, operating from Altrincham to Warrington via Bowdon and Dunham, which shared the same route with its sister route 102 which operates between Urmston to Warrington from Warburton. Both routes were combined to CAT5 at late 2000s. For many years there were no direct buses between Partington and Warburton, but a new route CAT5A was introduced from Altrincham to Warrington via Sinderland and Partington.[2][unreliable source?]

In 2020, both CAT5 and CAT5A were suspended as the lockdown measures take place for COVID-19. Both routes were reinstated with a revised route and schedule.[3] But the CAT5A were scrapped in 2023.
