Basanth Sadasivan (born 20 November 1996[1]) is a civil servant, world traveler and social media personality based in Singapore. He is known for his contributions to the travel industry, and for being one of the youngest people in the world to have visited all 193 member states of the United Nations.[2][3][4][5]

Early life and education
editBorn in Singapore to a general practitioner[6] and university provost, Sadasivan attended Cranbrook Kingswood High School from 2012 to 2016, where he was a member of the Model United Nations team.[7][8] He pursued higher education at Van Mildert College, a college of Durham University,[9] where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in combined honors in Social Sciences[10] with first class honours in 2020.[11]
Sadasivan continued his education with dual master's degrees, obtaining a Master of Science in Security Studies from University College London[12] and a Master of Science in International Health Management from Imperial College London in 2021.[9] He later obtained a Master of Law degree at the University of Nottingham in 2022, where he was a member of the university's cross country team.[13]
Career
editIn January 2023, Sadasivan began his career as a Foreign Service officer at the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs.[3]
In January 2024, Sadasivan was announced as a brand ambassador for Skyscanner.[14] During his tenure, Skyscanner launched the Everywhere pop-up travel consultancy, an initiative dedicated to identifying hidden gem travel destinations and easing traditional traveler apprehensions about unfamiliar destinations.[15][14][16] [17]
Travel
editSadasivan made his first solo trip as an unaccompanied minor to Australia in 2012.[3] He became one of the youngest people in the world to have visited all 193 member states of the United Nations upon landing in Funafuti, Tuvalu, on 22 December 2022 at the age of 26.[3]
Personal life
editSadasivan resides in Singapore and is the younger of two siblings.[18][19]
