Bad Newz is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language comedy film directed by Anand Tiwari.[1] Produced by Amazon Prime, Dharma Productions and Leo Media Collective, the film, inspired by true events, features Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk.[2] It revolves around heteropaternal superfecundation, a reproductive process in which twin children have the same mother, but different biological fathers.[3]

Premise

Saloni gets pregnant after having one-night stands with two different men, Akhil and Gurbir. A doctor informs her that it is a rare case of heteropaternal superfecundation, in which two different eggs are fertilized in the ovary of a woman with sperm from two different men. This leads to comic one-upmanship between the two men to woo her.[4]

The films' arrival post production was announced on March 2024 by Karan Johar which was initially titled Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam , and was later changed to Bad Newz.[6][7] [8]

Filming

Principal photography commenced in March 2022.[9] Production was wrapped in July 2023.[10]

After multiple date changes and other delays, Bad Newz is scheduled to be theatrically released on 19 July 2024.[11]

The film's digital streaming rights were acquired by its production house Amazon Prime and the film's satellite rights were acquired by Colors Cineplex.[12]
