The women's 10,000 metres event at the 1986 Commonwealth Games was held at the Meadowbank Stadium in Edinburgh on 28 July 1986.[1] It was the first time that this event was contested at the Commonwealth Games.
The winning margin was 11.89 seconds which as of 2024 remains the only time the women's 10,000 metres was won by more than ten seconds at these games.
