Biography

edit

Born on 1906 to a prominent family.[1] Her father was Abdel Rahim Sabri,[2] minister of Agriculture and Governor of Cairo,[3][4] and her mother was Tawfika Hanim Sherif.[5] Amina had two brothers: Sherif Sabri Pasha and Hussein Sabri Pasha, and two sisters: Nazli Sabri and Nawal Sabri.[4]

She was a granddaughter of Egypt's three-time prime minister Mohamed Sherif Pasha, as well as a great-granddaughter of Napoleon Bonaparte's colonel Soliman Pasha al-Faransawi.[6]

Following the death of her mother in 1915, she and her sister were sent to a boarding school in Paris for two years.[7]

On 16 January 1924, Amina married prince Adel Tousson, grandson of Ismail the Magnificent.[1][8] The wedding took place in Palace of Kamal al-din.[9][10][11] She gave birth on 18 April 1925 to her son Mohamed Tawfiq Tousson.[12][13] Her son became the dean of Muhammad Ali Dynasty, and died in 2021.[13]

She died on 3 May 1925 from effects of the birth.[13] Her funeral was attended by royals and high officials.[14]
