Ajay Kothari is an orthopedic spine surgeon based in Pune,[1] India. He is known for his expertise in Spinal surgery, particularly in minimally invasive techniques and complex spinal deformity corrections. Early life and education

Ajay Kothari was born and raised in Pune, Maharashtra. He pursued his Medical degree Followed by DNB ( Diplomate of National Board) in Orthopedic surgery. He stood first all over India and was Awarded Balu Sankaran Gold medal for the year 2008. He further specialized in spine surgery through Advanced Training and fellowships in renowned centres both in India and abroad. Kothari stood first all Over India in DNB ORTHO EXAM and was awarded Dr Balu Sankaran Gold medal for the year 2008 at New Delhi[2] From Left Dr Ajay Kothari Dr. A K Sood Executive director of National Board of Examination, Dr. Rajasekaran Presidmet National Board of Examination, Smt. Career

Kothari began his career at prominent hospital in Pune, quickly establishing himself as a leading spine surgeon.[3] He is currently associated with several top hospital in Pune, where he performs a wide range of spinal surgeries, including minimally invasive spine surgery, scoliosis correction, and Spinal fusion. He is the pioneer of unilateral, bi portal endoscopic spine surgery, minimal invasive spine surgery, and robotic spine surgery in India.

Philanthropy

Kothari visits, Ahmednagar (Ahilyanagar) and Jalgaon districts in Maharashtra and conducts OPD at subsidised rates for the underprivileged and weaker section of the society.

Kothari has a strong interest in research and has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals.[4] His research primarily focuses on innovative techniques in Spinal surgery,[5] outcomes of minimally invasive procedures, and the management of complex spinal deformities.

Teaching and mentorship
