Biography

edit

Fahmy graduated from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science. During his university years, he formed a band known as Tamarind Artistic Production with his friends. They presented films that mocked famous Egyptian films. The most successful was the film Men You Don't Know the Impossible. The idea caught the attention of Mohamed Hefzy, who at the time was heading to production, and he actually produced the series “Afeesh and Tashbeeh,” which presented in each episode a satirical image of one of the classics of Egyptian cinema. Hefzy then produced for them the film “Paper of Code,” which achieved great success in terms of criticism and revenues. His start in the world of cinema was by writing a scene (screenplay) for the movie “Keda Reda” by Ahmed Helmy, and then he participated in writing and acting in the movie “Paper of Blade,” which made his face known to the masses. He won the Critics' Award for Best New Faces in 2008, shared with his colleagues in the film Code Paper, Hesham Maged and Chico.

Personal life

edit

He first married Shahad Ramzy, the daughter of the late producer Mohamed Hassan Ramzy, then divorced her to marry Menna, the daughter of the artist Hussein Fahmy, who is the ex-wife of Sherif Ramzy (Shahed Ramzy's brother). But the marriage also ended in divorce. On August 15, 2018, Ahmed Fahmy celebrated his engagement to Egyptian actress Hana El Zahed, in a family party held at the bride's house. The party was limited to the newlyweds’ family and a few of their friends, and on September 11, 2019, they celebrated their wedding in a large party attended by many art stars. On November 16, 2023, their separation was officially announced.[1]
