On December 27, 2023, a day following the Bobcats' win in the First Responder Bowl , it was announced that defensive coordinator Jonathan Patke had been hired as Duke's defensive coordinator.[ 1] Dexter McCoil had been promoted to defensive coordinator.[ 2]
