Stage Three Laps: 102

On the final restart, Chris Buescher took the lead from Denny Hamlin to start the final lap, with Kyle Larson just behind him. As the two came off of four, with Chase Elliott and Martin Truex Jr. just behind the duo, they slammed twice on the front straight and the two crossed the line inseparable. Initially, both the broadcast and official timing scored Buescher as the winner, but the replay showed that Larson had just beaten Buescher back to the line, with an official photo afterwards from NASCAR confirming the result. The official margin of victory was registered at 0.001 seconds, making it the closest finish in NASCAR Cup Series history, beating out the 2003 Carolina Dodge Dealers 400 at Darlington by the same margin, and second closest in NASCAR’s entire history behind the 2018 PowerShares QQQ 300 Xfinity Series race, which had a margin of victory of 0.0004 seconds.
