2023–24 DFB-Pokal Frauen

The 2023–24 DFB-Pokal was the 42nd season of the annual German football cup competition. Several teams participated in the competition, including all teams from the previous year's Frauen-Bundesliga and the 2. Frauen-Bundesliga, excluding second teams. The competition began on 12 August 2023 with the first of six rounds and ended on 9 May 2024 with the final at the RheinEnergieStadion in Cologne, a nominally neutral venue, which has hosted the final since 2010.[1]

VfL Wolfsburg were the nine-time defending champions and regained the title by defeating Bayern Munich 2–0 in the final.[2][3]

Format edit

Clubs from lower leagues hosted against clubs from higher leagues until the quarter-finals. Should both clubs play below the 2. Bundesliga, there was no host club change anymore.

The draw took place on 29 June 2023, with Doris Fitschen drawing the matches.[4][5] The games will take place between 12 and 15 August 2023.[1] The teams were split in a North and South group. All clubs from the 2022–23 Frauen-Bundesliga and the four best-placed teams from the 2022–23 2. Frauen-Bundesliga receive a bye.

Round of 16 edit

The draw took place on 18 September 2023 with Verena Schweers drawing the matches.[9][10] The matches will take place between 24 and 26 November 2023, with two games scheduled for January due to the involvement of Frankfurt and Munich in the 2023–24 UEFA Women's Champions League. However, the January matches were postponed again due to poor weather conditions.[11][12][1]
