The article was nominated for speedy deletion because it failed to assert notability. I hope that my recent edits justify the article's existence. The subject meets the notability requirements at WP:PROF since he holds a named chair and his research has made a significant impact in his scholarly discipline (see citations on Google Scholar), and edits a well-established journal.
