WikiProject Stub improvement edit

I'm looking to revive WP:WikiProject Stub improvement, and I'm leaving a notice here because it's directly related to what this WikiProject is doing. If any of you are interested, I think a dedicated hub for stub improvement has a lot of potential. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 06:59, 27 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

North Yorkshire Districts edit

Hello, the North Yorkshire Districts were abolished in a local government reorganisation in April 2023. I have now moved the stub articles up to the parent category Category:North Yorkshire geography stubs by switching them to use {{NorthYorkshire-geo-stub}}.

Thus the following are no longer required

I can just delete them, unless there is some other procedure required such as Wikipedia:Categories for discussion. Keith D (talk) 21:09, 17 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Keith D: CfD is indeed the correct procedure for deleting stubs categories and templates. See WP:CfD#Stub types. Andumé (talk) 04:47, 14 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

edit

I seem to remember seeing stub categories with banners or something at the top, saying that the category should contain mostly subcategories, and individual articles should probably go into those subcategories. One such stub category that would meet that criterion is Beetle stubs, which I intend to work on. But can somebody point me to that banner, please? Let me be clear; the stub category I'm thinking about is not a Parent Only category, nor is it one with uploaded subcategories (I see those templates on the talk page). It is simply one that should have very few individual articles. Uporządnicki (talk) 02:22, 3 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
MAYBE I FOUND IT? I just found the Category Diffuse Template. Would that be used in stub categories? Uporządnicki (talk) 02:36, 3 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Having seen no objections, I decided to go ahead and add the Category Diffuse Template. Uporządnicki (talk) 18:10, 8 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Formatting error? edit

Hello all, I just proposed this new stub category but I think I've made an error somewhere that I can't see as the nomination doesn't appear on the main proposals page - help! Lajmmoore (talk) 15:13, 1 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
