Selecting an article

edit

I don't see an option to edit the chart that contains the optional article selections. Do you know how to change the group number to ours? Autumn Zack-Taylor (talk) 16:35, 28 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

I am not sure how to go about changing this but it looks on my screen as if I can add an article beside my name in the students list at the bottom of the page. Are we going with Eukaryotic DNA replication? If so I think we may be able to add the article in this chart. Let me know...thanksEr1cah0p3 (talk) 17:26, 28 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
I see the chart at the bottom too. Lets add our article here until we get some clarification about what we're supposed to do. I added a thread to the wiki question discussion board about editing the chart. Hopefully we'll get a response soon. Autumn Zack-Taylor (talk) 17:44, 28 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
I was able to add the article to this chart at the bottom of the class page. It looks like you can remove it too if needed. Autumn Zack-Taylor (talk) 17:49, 28 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
I also added this next to my name. I guess the next step will be to begin work on our rationale. Is there any particular way that you would like to do this and are we to be doing this as I team as I assumed?Er1cah0p3 (talk) 17:57, 28 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
I think we're supposed to write the rational together as a team. Maybe we can both write something and the other will add or edit and go back and forth until we both collaboratively created a rational? I hope that makes sense :) . Autumn Zack-Taylor (talk) 18:04, 28 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
Makes total sense to me. We will just edit back and forth on the project page until we get it right! Sounds good. Er1cah0p3 (talk) 18:07, 28 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
Good! I'm going to add the section heading to our group page just so that it's there. Autumn Zack-Taylor (talk) 18:10, 28 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

I would like to go ahead with selecting the Eukaryotic DNA replication as our group article. I think it needs a lot of added information about the different replicative proteins involved and the complexes formed to initiate replication. I feel that there is a lot of information that can be added to this stub page to make it into a B class or a GA class page. What do you think about the eukaryotic DNA replication stub page? Autumn Zack-Taylor (talk) 17:43, 28 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

I defintiely think that this article has room for improvement and I think there will be a good amount of information and references in expanding this page. I had sent you a message to your user talk page but I am assuming that we should do most of our communication for this project on this page so from here out this is where I will go to post. I agree with this selection and will go ahead and post it in the student list. Er1cah0p3 (talk) 17:50, 28 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
The instructions say, "As a team, choose one article, and then edit the Articles section below to "claim" it. Articles will be claimed on a first-come-first-served basis, so you are encouraged to touch base with other groups, as well, to see if more than one group is interested in the same article. In the table below, change the "Group x" in the correct row and column to your group's number. Make sure you use the "preview" button before "save", to verify that you've got it right." Please do that -- edit the articles table at the bottom of the course page. Let me know if you have trouble, by leaving a note on my talk page. Klortho (talk) 19:09, 28 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Editing Rationale

edit

I started writing our groups rationale in the Article Rationale Section of our group page. If there is anything that you would like to add/reword/or admit from the paragraph please feel free to do so. The paragraph now is at 242 words and I believe the limit is 300, so if you need to delete a sentence of mine to give you room to write your thoughts, please do! Talk to you soon!! Autumn Zack-Taylor (talk) 14:24, 5 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

This is great. I kept holding out as I was not really sure of the article selection issue but I figured today I would get some of the ideas onto the page. I will look at what you have as it could be that some of our ideas overlap and will add or edit what we may need. In looking over my additions tonight/tomorrow let me know if you see something that needs work. I should have my posting done this afternoon. We can catch back up tomorrow to finalize the post. Hope this works for you. Thanks!Er1cah0p3 (talk) 17:44, 5 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
I added a bit more in terms of specifics as this was what I had focused on but maybe this is to be more general. Let me know what you think. Other than that what you had looked great. Thanks!Er1cah0p3 (talk) 18:22, 5 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
I like what you added to the rationale, I think its good that we discuss what the article already has that needs to be modified along with what we can add to the article. I'm excited about this project, its crazy that we'll be able to put information on Wikipedia, something I always go to for info. Reread our rationale whenever you have time, but I think it looks good and its within the word limit, 356 words. Talk to you soon! Autumn Zack-Taylor (talk) 00:29, 6 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
Hello Autumn-I think this looks great! I agree, this is definitely an exciting project, albeit a bit intimidating, and I am eager to see what we can create!! Let me know if you think anything else needs to be done but for now I feel we are on target. Thanks and I will talk to you soon.Er1cah0p3 (talk) 18:37, 6 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
