Tips for creating new COVID-19 articles

• Follow all the standard best practices for articles, as outlined at Help:Your first article. See the Help:Introduction tutorials for general editing advice.
• Rigorous sourcing is extremely important for medical articles. Ideal sources include literature reviews or systematic reviews in reliable, third-party, published secondary sources (such as reputable medical journals), recognised standard textbooks by medical experts, or medical guidelines and position statements from national or international expert bodies. See WP:COVID-19/Sources and WP:Identifying reliable sources (medicine) for more information, and WP:COVID-19/Reference sources for a list.
• When drafting, follow the Manual of Style for medicine-related articles.
• Optionally, add the COVID-19 sidebar, {{COVID-19 pandemic sidebar}}, and/or navbox {{COVID-19 pandemic}}, to the page. If the topic is significant in the scope of the pandemic as a whole, edit the sidebar and navbox to add it to them.
• Add the COVID-19 portal (below any navboxes) by inserting {{Portal bar|Coronavirus disease 2019|''other portals, such as "Medicine"''}}.
• Mark the page as within the scope of this wikiproject by adding {{WikiProject COVID-19}} to the talk page. Also add {{Current COVID-19 consensuses}} there.
• Don't forget the normal finishing touches, such as categories, a short description, and the {{COVID-19-stub}} stub tag if needed.
• Ensure that the article is not an orphan by linking to it from other COVID-19 pages where it is relevant, possibly COVID-19 pandemic, Coronavirus disease 2019, Timeline of the COVID-19 pandemic in May 2024, one of the country-specific articles on the pandemic, or one of the articles on the pandemic's impact. Also, add a few relevant redirects (such as swapping "coronavirus" and "COVID-19").
