Template:2008 Major League Baseball Home Run Derby (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)

We've been down this road before. Last December the template for the 2006 HR Derby was deleted by a TfD. Well here we are again. :) I deleted Template:2007 Home Run Derby and Template:2008 Home Run Derby using that previous decision as precedent but this new 2008 template was created today. There is no reason for a template for one page. The previous Home Run Derby pages have faced very light vandalism. There's just no reason why a one use template can't be incorporated into the page it's about. No chance of it spreading to other pages. — WoohookittyWoohoo! 10:10, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep- It isn't single use. The templates (for 2007 and 2008) you previously deleted were also not single use. The 2008 derby template is on three articles. Check "What links here" for tranclusions. --Michael Greiner 13:35, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep- Please check the transclusion list per above. - ElbridgeGerry t c block 02:32, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per above. –BuickCenturyDriver 04:01, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Speedy Keep. The Derby is tomorrow, and people should know the participants. Also, this deletion history is rubbish. Dalekusa (talk) 22:08, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep for now - There's gonna be a lot of updating during the Derby, and it's nice to keep that separate from the main all-star game page, or the home run derby page. We can revisit the issue after the template has stabilized, if someone chooses to. Highway99 (talk) 00:06, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - I think it should be kept until the derby is over and then paste the table on each of the pages the template is located on. And then keep this template but change it's title for next year so we do not have to do this. And if it is ok with everyone. I am going to remove the TFD template from the page. It makes it look bad. Wikipedia does not endorse any single map service, and listing what they all contain around the world would be an impossible and unencyclopedic project. Since similar data is available from so many sources, links to map services are given with coordinates to keep the linking neutral, and readers can click on them to choose any service they like, per WP:EL. --Para (talk) 07:54, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per WP:NPOV:...other encyclopedic content must be written from a neutral point of view (NPOV), representing fairly, and as far as possible without bias... Creator I would guess only used Google Earth for map usage, but its unencyclopedic. --TALKIN PIE EATER REVIEW ME 22:33, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
