Sorry, unregistered users cannot be granted permissions due to technical restrictions. Please create an account in order to request user account permissions.
Shortcuts
Please review the AWB guide before making a request. Users are rarely approved unless they have either 250 non-automated mainspace edits or 500 total mainspace edits. You can check your non-automated contributions on XTools. Administrators are automatically approved and do not need to request access. For bots, you must first have a bot approval request approved, or in trial; link to your BRFA in the request.
This page is for requesting AWB Access for English Wikipedia only. Other projects have their own check pages and you should ask administrators there to add you.
If approved, your name will be added to the CheckPage. If you will make many or fast automated edits using AWB, you may wish to use a separate (or bot) account for that purpose; first create the account, give it a userpage declaring it to be your alternate account, then make the request using your main account.
Please note that administrators may not ping you in replies, so please check on your request if you have not heard anything.

I'd like to keep using AutoWikiBrowser to better add WikiProjects to talk pages in other languages, such as those in the Vietnamese versions of Establishments in Italy by year, as well as fixing (not necessarily removing like before) unknown parameters in templates. petscan:29601810 shows several hundred biographies with inconsistent categories. Depending on the subject, the solution is either replacing Category:Year of birth missing (living people) with Category:Year of birth missing, or adding Category:Living people. It's very repetitive (even with HotCat), but I don't think a bot could reliably decide which solution to apply. There are many tasks I undertake that AWB would make easier, but the immediate task is finding 'what redirects here' for Effective radiated power to clean its odd anchor 'Equivalent radiated power (Redirected)' in the second paragraph. I do a fair bit of redirect work, so the ability to examine database dumps without dragging out my minimal MariaDB chops would be nice. Hello, I want to request permission for AutoWikiBrowser to be used in the Spanish Wikipedia, I am a reverser and verifier, so I have knowledge with this type of programs. I want to use it more than anything to make corrections in articles that we translate, and there are sectors in templates that are not translated and we use the English Wikipedia. Aopou, there are no requirements to use AWB on the Spanish Wikipedia (es:WP:AWB#Registro), so you should be fine if you just install it yourself using the instructions on that page. Disambugation links. I really enjoy doing them and I'd like to help bring the "articles with Dab links" number into the 3 digits. If you'll look at my dab history you'll see I have dealt with everything from standard, to Vandalism, to navbox, and even had to update a module for a disambugation link that had been present for a few months. I'm currently null editing manually ~120 pages so they won't be on the dab list and slow anyone else down.

I currently do the majority of my disambugation on mobile, but if granted permission I can allocate two days on desktop to disambiguate. Based on on current normal fluctuations, I'm confident that I can help get disambiguation articles down to triple digits within 3-4 months. (notwithstanding random navbox disambiguation).

I am currently ranked in the top 10 DAB users although that doesn't mean much right now considering the top 2 have about ten times my number. RCSCott91 (talk) 19:22, 31 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
