Wikipedia:First Law of Usernames

(Redirected from Wikipedia:POVUSERNAME)

The Wikipedia First Law of Usernames is that editors with usernames containing the word "truth" are rarely here to build an encyclopedia, and instead are more likely to push an agenda. These editors will almost never be a net positive to the encyclopedia, and should be viewed with suspicion, AGF notwithstanding.

Wikipedia deals in facts verifiable through reliable sources. Editors whose usernames indicate they deal instead with Truth™ tend to have a short and unsatisfactory editing career.

Other words in usernames to look out for are "justice", "bias", "facts", "sentinel", "freedom", "neutrality", and "misinformation". These accounts are more likely to be biased, push false facts, be decidedly non-neutral, and deal in misinformation than they are to actually correct errors or improve articles.
