- Ouch, that's a bit harsh. Increased DoF is inevitable with the smaller chips in compact cameras, which I'd venture this was shot with. Unless we effectively exclude all but DSLR wildlife shots (based on this one, I wouldn't) we have to make some allowance for the absence of thousand-dollar optics. Personally, I really don't think it looks "worse", just different to the classic bokeh-smoothed BG, which just isn't obligatory in all cases. I'd further speculate this was shot wide-open, full telephoto, so the chances of the same photographer improving on that aspect of it would be slim to none. --mikaul^talk 01:18, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
