Original – The painting, representation of a passionate kiss, is enormously popular in Italy, and is seen as a symbol of Italian Romanticism, that emphasizes deep feelings rather than rational thought, and presents a reinterpretation and reevaluation of the Middle Ages romantic love ideals in a patriotic and nostalgic tone.

York Scan - people DON'T consider this - this not an ~~ALT~~ - it was only posted to show difference between the old upload and the very original that has been correct in colours and size from the very beginning. This one was overwritten, and original sourcing is solved.

Reason: Own article, big file. The painting from 1859 represents a couple embracing and kissing each other. It is among the most passionate and intense representations of a kiss in the history of Western art. Jewel in Romanticism: Hayez’s “The Kiss”:
