As the World Turns edit

Are you a fan of soaps? Mike H 20:48, Aug 29, 2004 (UTC)

ATWT edit

I'm kinda addicted to ATWT, but I do not watch other soaps. ZanderZ 23:48, 29 Aug 2004 (UTC)

The ATWT page is really lacking. You could help me update it. Also, Lockeownzj00 has an ATWT update on his things to do. You should talk with him. Welcome! Mike H 23:31, Aug 29, 2004 (UTC)
Ooh, you're Dutch? I've heard ATWT is big in the Netherlands. Mike H 23:46, Aug 29, 2004 (UTC)

Yeah, I'm Dutch :) ATWT is quite big here indeed. However, the episodes airing here are of December 2002. So it's hard to update it I guess. ZanderZ 23:48, 29 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Well, I meant like past history. How long has it been airing there? Mike H 23:49, Aug 29, 2004 (UTC)

It's on since 1990 I think, so that would be the 1988 season. I've been watching since around the 1996 season. If you have any ideas on what to do, I'll be more than happy to do it. ZanderZ 13:39, 30 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Ooh, so they did air a lot of the Douglas Marland era. That's good. That was really the golden age of that show, besides the 1960s. 1996 was a very bad year to start watching the show, though. By all accounts, 1996 was easily the worst year in ATWT history, despite being its 40th anniversary. Mike H 13:41, Aug 30, 2004 (UTC)
I've written some ATWT actor articles, like Eileen Fulton, Larry Bryggman, Martha Byrne, Helen Wagner, Don Hastings, and probably a few more. I figure they could be translated into Dutch, because someone would want to read them. Mike H 13:43, Aug 30, 2004 (UTC)

Still, 1996 was good enough to keep me watching :) It's a good idea to translate those pages into Dutch, I'll get started on that today. ZanderZ 13:53, 30 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Boyee. Didn't realise it was so big there. Yeah, I've really got to get to it--shame you're not up to the 2004 era, though. Some pretty damn good stories. I'm less worried about older characters though, I want to make a big update on all the newest characters and story arcs.

Redirects edit

See User:B-Movie Bandit. Those articles were started by him and were redirect by User:Lucky 6.9 or myself. We were told that this would be acceptable if someone would not take the time to write a better article than what was given. Mike H 22:48, Sep 2, 2004 (UTC)

Pictures edit

You may be able to use these screencaps on the NL Wikipedia, since I saw you moved a Helen Wagner pic. I took them myself yesterday.

Mike H 16:35, Sep 24, 2004 (UTC)

Thanks. I'll add those images tomorrow, along with writing the articles which do not exist yet. Sander 18:19, 24 Sep 2004 (UTC)
Hm, apparently it is not allowed to upload 'fair use' images to the Dutch Wikipedia :( I'm not sure why... Sander 19:58, 25 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Soap history edit

Juppiter listed History of As the World Turns (1956-1959) on VFD. Please vote. Mike H 01:57, Dec 21, 2004 (UTC)

Soap article policy proposal edit

Since you edit soap articles, I figure you might be interested in the policy proposal I've brought up on the talk page for the Soap WikiProject. If you haven't done so yet, be sure to sign your name on the regular page, noting that you support the work in such a project. Mike H 08:06, Mar 9, 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for telling me about it. I won't be creating new articles on actors on the English Wikipedia, but I'll keep the things in mind for the Dutch Wikipedia. I'll do what I can to improve soap articles if neccesary -- Sander 08:58, 9 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Don't remove the link edit

Please, don't remove the link in Gusanos article. I'm trying to improve the credibility of both articles. Almost nothing links to them, so I created the links between them. This is the nature of hypertext: there should be links between similar topics. Grue 12:45, 29 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Create the link on the Liero article then, but not at Gusanos. LieroX and Gusanos are absolutely not similar!
There is already a link from Liero. How the hell they are absolutely not similar, I played both and there is _very_ little difference, at least in appearance? I'm not sure about gameplay since I had no one to play Gusanos with. Grue 11:50, 30 Mar 2005 (UTC)
The gameplay is very, VERY different. Ask anyone in the Liero Community. I'm gonna change this once again - Sander 11:54, 30 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Wikipedia is not for Liero community, in fact 99% people here don't know what Liero is. Lame underdeveloped sequels of Liero are even less interesting to the masses (I like Wurmz the most, even if it's dead). If some deletionist stumbles upon them, they will be listed for deletion, and they will be deleted. The best solution would be merging them to one page but this level of hostility between two projects prevents that. Grue 14:44, 30 Mar 2005 (UTC)

VWN en WCN edit

Beste ZanderZ,

Deletion debates of a few supercouples within the scope of Wikipedia: WikiProject Soap Operas edit

A few articles within the scope of Wikipedia: WikiProject Soap Operas have been nominated for deletion. But this is before we've gotten around to truly improving these particular articles. At this rate, if these articles are more so targeted because they are soap opera couple articles, I find it very off, given that these articles are a work in progress. I was hoping that you could lend your voice on this matter in their deletion debates, as I will contact all participants of Wikipedia: WikiProject Soap Operas to weigh in on this matter as well. I do not believe that getting rid of these or any supercouple articles on Wikipedia is the answer, improving them is.

So far, I know of three true supercoupe articles nominated for deletion:

Orphaned non-free image (Image:LieroX056b.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:LieroX056b.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 19:01, 18 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Claisen condensation edit

Eh? It's one of the resonance forms of an enolate anion...how is it awkward? Mechanisms can be draw to/from any resonance form; I just chose the one requiring the least arrows. Sure I could put in all the resonance forms, but it would make the image darn big and is kind of pedantic in my view. Do you disagree? Anyway, I'll upload it as a .SVG when I get a couple of minutes. Thezookeeper (talk) 19:35, 18 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Well, I don't know about you, but I learned that drawing the anion on the oxygen is better since oxygen is more electronegative than carbon. The image doesn't need all resonance forms, just the one with the anion on the oxygen. It would only require one more arrow (from oxygen to C-O bond, C=C bond to carbonyl instead of anion to carbonyl). -- Sander (talk) 17:57, 23 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Sure your way better represents the actual electron density, but both are completely valid resonance structures, and putting the negative charge on the carbon is simply more convenient for drawing carbonyl mechanisms; fewer arrows make things easier to read. I don't think anyone who understands resonance would have a problem recognizing what is meant by the structure in my image...and anyone who doesn't likely wouldn't recognize that oxygen is more electronegative anyway. In any case, many textbooks draw the structures with the negative charge on the carbon. Does it really bother you that much? Thezookeeper (talk) 15:56, 24 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Unisphere fountains edit

If you have a photo from today or tomorrow, with the metadata intact, I would think that would be sufficient unless someone gets really picky about such a minor bit of information and demands "third party sources" or some such. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 03:21, 1 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

I will upload a photo later today or perhaps tomorrow :) -- Sander (talk) 01:28, 3 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
Here it is, unedited in any way: File:Unisphere-20100731.jpg. Sander (talk) 02:47, 3 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
Beautiful. I'm going to add it to the article. :) ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 02:55, 3 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Please be more careful. edit

You broke a disambiguation fix with this edit. Please take care to avoid such mistakes in the future. bd2412 T 13:00, 7 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hm, must have edited an old version by accident. Sander (talk) 13:22, 7 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
It happens. Cheers! bd2412 T 13:44, 7 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
