Release Version

edit

I copy and paste the template for a passed article for Release Version 7, and the last I recall we were holding off on assigning an "importance" to an article - since that is an extremely debatable parameter to assign a value to - so I leave the parameter in the same form it is here. I hope that clears it up any. --Ozgod 02:18, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Recreations

edit

Please stop recreating validly deleted pages simply because you disagree with the deletion. If you would like to contest a deletion, please take it to WP:DRV. Indeed, they are already listed there, and you have already commented there, so this seems particularly inappropriate. Dmcdevit·t 20:12, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

At this point, I would have to agree. (Though "validly" is currently in dispute.) As an aside, I honestly would have liked to have seen (and possibly still see) the matter resolved at Dmcdevit's talk page. - jc37 21:01, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Tagging commons images

edit

Hi, please don't take this the wrong way, but could I ask you to use some discretion in which images you tag to be transfered to commons? I might specifically look at Image:DSCN6573 a 1.JPG, which you tagged, and seems to have little value. Hope not to sound rude. Thanks. The Evil Spartan 20:45, 19 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Edit to Happy Chandler

edit

I noticed you have re-added information regarding Happy Chandler's relation to Ben Chandler to his article. I agree that this is important information, and I only removed it because a good article reviewer complained that it was a one-sentence paragraph and needed to be expanded for the article to pass GA. Any ideas on how to expand it to two or more sentences to head off this complaint and insulate the article from de-listing? Acdixon 20:07, 24 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Perfect expansion. Thanks a lot! Acdixon 02:47, 25 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your unspent heart a message sends
Of grace and sacrifice hard-won
Upon which happiness depends!

Hi Kwsn. Thank you for your support and kind words in my RfA, which passed with 95 support, 1 oppose, and 1 neutral !votes. I appreciate your taking the extra time to ask me Q14 which gave me time to think more about IAR. It means a lot to me to have your individual support and the collective support of so many others. I truly will strive to carry myself at a level representing the trust bestowed in me as I use the mop to address the never-ending drips of discontent in need of caretaker assistance.

My RfA

edit

Thank you for participating in my RfA. It was successful, and I am now, may God have mercy on us all, an administrator. Look at all the new buttons! I had heard about 'protect,' 'block user,' and 'delete,' but no one told me about 'kill,' 'eject,' and 'purée.' I appreciate the trust the community has in me, and I'll try hard not to delete the main page or block Jimbo. -FisherQueen (Talk) 18:25, 2 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Non-free use disputed for Image:0786016957.01._SS500_SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg

edit
  This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:0786016957.01._SS500_SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Qst 16:20, 6 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Herbert-Mullin.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Herbert-Mullin.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 21:30, 8 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use Image:RJGalindo.jpg

edit

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:RJGalindo.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Remember the dot (talk) 20:05, 19 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
