Welcome! edit

Hello, UnicornGoods, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Username policy edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "UnicornGoods", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username, by completing this form, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. GMGtalk 16:35, 24 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

November 2017 edit

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add soapboxing, promotional or advertising material to Wikipedia, as you did at Veganism, you may be blocked from editing. Zefr (talk) 17:03, 1 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

You created the page vegan design without use of sources, and edited veganism here with information defining/promoting vegan design according to only your interpretation. Given that Unicorn Goods is a "vegan design" company and you apparently work there, this is clear conflict of interest and promotional of your company. Adding further information like this is a violation of Wikipedia policy and will get you blocked. --Zefr (talk) 17:26, 1 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
You said here that you have no connection to the topic or the companies representing vegan design. Please explain your user name which references you are part of Unicorn Goods, a "vegan design" company. --Zefr (talk) 18:44, 1 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
Of course, I would be happy to clarify that the Wikipedia entry for vegan design is not subjective. "Unicorn Goods" is not present, references or cited in, 1) the Wikipedia entry for vegan design, 2) as one of the five cited sources for this entry, 3) within any of the five cited sources for this entry. Additionally, "Unicorn Goods" does not describe itself as a "vegan design" company - what are you referring to exactly, and can you provide a direct link to where you are getting this information? Even so, Wikipedia policy states that conflict of interest does not prohibit quality and objective entries as long as the included information in the entry is credible and objective in content, and sources are cited. If you are not satisfied with the objectivity of this post, it would be more in line with Wikipedia policy for you to suggest edits to improve the quality of the entry rather than for you to request its deletion. Do you have any suggestions I can take you up on to improve the objectivity of this post and increase its quality for the Wikipedia community? Thanks in advance for your collaboration.--Cayla Mackey at Unicorn Goods (talk) 19:40, 1 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
You said: "Unicorn Goods does not describe itself as a "vegan design" company - what are you referring to exactly, and can you provide a direct link to where you are getting this information?" From the Unicorn Goods website: 1) The World's Largest Vegan Store, 2) "Our mission is to save the planet, people, and animals by selling and promoting animal-free products.", 3) "we recommend buying products from 100% vegan brands", among others, indicate that promoting vegan products and commercialization is both intrinsic to Unicorn Goods, your WP user name, and the motivation behind an article on vegan design. To me, they are collectively and clearly WP:COI, WP:PROMO and WP:SOAP. I recommend you solicit feedback from other editors of the Veganism article to advise you and consider the deletion discussion. It also seems evident that you are a different WP user by the name of Cayla4290 who made this edit which indicates you are a sockpuppet, WP:SOCK. You may be blocked for this sock activity. --Zefr (talk) 20:20, 1 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
You said: "promoting vegan products and commercialization is both intrinsic to Unicorn Goods, your WP user name, and the motivation behind an article on vegan design. To me, they are collectively and clearly WP:COI, WP:PROMO and WP:SOAP." Unicorn Goods does not use the term "vegan design" in any of the examples you cited. The vegan design entry does not reference Unicorn Goods. Even so, the policies your cited "do not prohibit entries about projects in which the editor has a personal involvement" as long as the editor maintains "a neutral point of view." -Cayla Mackey at Unicorn Goods (talk) 16:52, 2 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Admin help edit

Would it be possible to delete Cayla4290 and move User talk:Cayla4290 to User talk:Cayla Mackey at Unicorn Goods? I created Cayla4290 but was unable to regain access to this account to do a lost password and the lack of an email address associated with this account. I created Cayla Mackey at Unicorn Goods after.

No, accounts cannot be deleted once created. To avoid confusion, I have redirected your abandoned user page and user talk page to your current user page and user talk page, so anyone going there will end up here. ~Anachronist (talk) 00:59, 3 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Nomination of Vegan design for deletion edit

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Vegan design is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Vegan design until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. Your conflicts of interest edit

It is now evident from this that you are founder/owner of a veganism/vegan design company, Unicorn Goods, and that you are trying to promote your company, the relatively undefined concept and business of vegan design, and have promotional bias in your edits, such as this. By Wikipedia policies, you are involved in WP:COI and WP:PROMO, and are meeting resistance not only from me, but by other editors, such as here, here, and here. You seem persistent to work mainly on vegan design, veganism, and your own company's articles, while there are hundreds of related articles that might benefit from your contributions. You should turn your attention to them if you are serious about contributing to the encyclopedia. I also recommend that you close this username account and start fresh with an anonymous username, with edits that remain objective and supported with WP:RS sources, preferably on topics outside your areas of COI. --Zefr (talk) 17:07, 3 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Your username complies just fine with Wikipedia:Username policy, and creating multiple accounts will cause more problems and likely result in permanent blocking. The only good advice in the paragraph above is the recommendation to edit in areas where you have no conflict of interest, as all established editors do here. ~Anachronist (talk) 20:04, 6 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
