RE: RFA
editHi Tone, once again, you may like to nominate me for RFA from today onwards. No fixed date though, admin coaching is done for me, hope to hear from you soon. I've listed myself at editor review, do take a look. Regards --Terence Ong 11:34, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
undelete Jed Simon
editHello,
I am the creator of the Jed Simon page. When I saw that it was deleted, I left a message on the administrators' talk page, and it was decided by other administrators that it was deleted in error, and was moved to my sandbox. I am new to Wikipedia, and am not sure how to move it back to the Jed Simon page, saw that you had deleted it, and thought I'd ask you. Please let me know if/how it can be done.
Thanks. Simon squared 16:26, 7 June 2006 (UTC)simon_squared

Please go ahead and delete the Cosmo Wilson page. I am new at Wiki and wrote before I read.
Thanks for educating me.

Signed in now!
A friend turned me on to the the fact my name was listed in Wikipedia, and I unwittingly added info without reading the "proper" way to do so first. After reading about everything, I don't even feel it's my place to add anything. If it's meant to happen, it will. Kinda cool I am listed in some degree anyway!

editHello, Tone/Archive 4, and thank you for the supportive vote on my recent RfA! With a final vote of 84/1/4, I have now been entrusted with the mop, bucket and keys. I will be slowly acclimating myself to my new tools over the next months, but welcome any and all feedback and suggestions on how I might be able to use them to help the project. Thanks again! My RFA
editTone, thank you very much for your support in my recent Request for adminship, it passed with a final tally of (65/3/3) - which I find both amazing and humbling. I wish I had time to thank everyone personally, but I'm afraid all I can offer is this token of my gratitude. I hope to live up to your expectations/hopes. If at any stage you need to contact me, for help or a request or to point out a mistake in my conduct, please make sure to tell me on my talk page. --Fir0002 08:22, 13 June 2006 (UTC) |

editNeutral, but completely uninformative. The guy completely ruined a pivotal World Cup soccer game. you can keep it neutral and include that.
I watched the match also. Just wait until it cools down and add the info later (of course, with all the references.) --Tone 21:09, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

On 9 June, I entered a small article on three local gentlemen that contributed significantly to the aeronautical field; specifically gliders. In fact, Schweizer gliders are world-famous and highly treasured. Their company has since grown to include other products but they will forever be remembered for their gliders.
Imagine my disappointment to find any mention of them stricken from the record; because when you killed the Schweizer_brothers article, Marudubshinki came along a week or so later and killed the four links I had created to point to the original article.
I see the cause for deletion was listed as "BIO". I don't recall entering much text; certainly nothing that would qualify as a biographical sketch for these remarkable gentlemen. If indeed a small paragraph which then links to more information about the brothers and their company qualifies as a "biography" then I imagine the reams of biographical information normally found will find someone wanting to remove Abraham Lincoln and Janez Vajkard Valvasor next!
As you may have guessed, I disagree with your decision to delete this article and welcome the opportunity to discuss it. And, no, I am not associated with the Schweizer family or the company in any way (other than the fact we live in the same county ... I think it is the same county at least).
Thank you kindly. --JimScott 23:57, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
Hello Jim. I checked my deletion log and realized that this specific deletion was a bit premature. I guess the reason for deletion was that the article was tagged for a speedy deletion by another user who thought that the brothers were not important enough. I reread it now and I find it perfect suitable to stay, however, it needs some rewording. I would prefer having sentences with remarkable or interesting reformulated so that they stick to the WP:NPOV guideline. So for now, I restored the article and put a cleanup tag on it, I think it will do. If you need any help, feel free to contact me (although I can't guarantee you that I will be able to answer soon, but there surely are lots of users who will be happy to help.) And I can restore the rest of the articles if you tell me their titles. Best regards and happy editing. --Tone 09:49, 20 June 2006 (UTC)

editHi Tone,
Thanks for your help. I have indeed uploaded the new info, but, you were right, another editor has made a comment, in this case, "An editor has expressed a concern that the subject of the article does not satisfy one of the guidelines for inclusion on Wikipedia on one of the following topics:"
What do I need to do to "cite reliable sources?" There are many articles about my work on the Net, I have many tour programs and other items with my name listed, I have credits on many LP album and CD liner notes, I have credits on several DVD's, but how do I go about "proving" this info on the Cosmo Wilson page? Do I need to send info to a certain editor? I have read Wikipedia's "Citing Sources" page, but I am still not sure how to move forward with this.
Thanking you in advance.

My resume
editHere is a link to my resume. I am not at all saying that this is a way to prove fact, but I have done a lot of work for many bands for many years. I guess I suddenly feel vunerable as I am not sure how to "prove" my own existence!

A short Esperanzial update
editAs you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.
As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.
Thanks and kind, Esperanzial regards, —Celestianpower háblame 16:00, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

editPlease undelete Joseph E. Ibberson Conservation Area. I had reduced the article to a stub in order to eliminate the copyvio material, and I was intending to expand it. In general, if an article is flagged as a stub, it's probably best not to delete it speedily. TruthbringerToronto (Talk | contribs) 17:18, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

Rose Hill Drive
editI've recreated the page, don't kill me. I really don't see what's wrong with it. Sure I'm a fan and all but who else is gonna create pages for things other than enthusiasts? It's not like I went and started going on about them being the best band on the planet or anything, they just didn't have a page yet. Am I supposed to wait until the album's actually out or something? Do you want more sources, more writing in general?

Hello Tone/Archive 4, and thank you for your support at my Request for Adminship, which succeeded with an overwhelming final count of (105/2/0). I was very pleased with the outpouring of kind words from the community that has now entrusted me with these tools, from the classroom, the lesson in human psychology and the international resource known as Wikipedia. Please feel free to leave me plenty of requests, monitor my actions (through the admin desk on my userpage) and, if you find yourself in the mood, listen to some of what I do in real life. In any case, keep up the great work and have a fabulous day. Grandmasterka 06:50, 16 July 2006 (UTC) |

Re: Username change for sl user
editHi. I would be happy to perform the change. But policy requires that I get a confirmation from the user interested himself, made while logged onto to the account whose name is going to be changed. The normal forum for this is WP:CHU, where there's a template set for the requests. However, if it would be difficult for him (as in, maybe he doesn't speak English), I would be satisfied if he posted on my talk page, in the same thread you started. All he'd have to do is post something like "confirm", or even "ok" and sign the request with tildes (again, from the account that is to be renamed). It's basically a security procedure. But if he can speak English well enough, a request at the forum I indicated would be the best way to go. Cheers, Redux 16:43, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
- Hi again. I've gotten Mihael's confirmation and have carried out his request. I've left him a note on his talk page. Cheers, Redux 02:13, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
