Juliet Sabine
I want to create a new Wikipedia page for Medical / Surgical Assault. This will be the first page I have created on Wiki and I am looking for guidance.
editHi Gråbergs Gråa Sång. How have you been? I haven't been editing much on Wiki lately and so I've forgotten most of what I learned. I want to create this new page. As far as the source information, I believe I would use this. [1] I want to keep it as simple as possible. Can you give me any pointers? Thank you. Juliet Sabine (talk) 04:00, 16 August 2019 (UTC)
- Hello! I'm fine, hope you are too.
- Start as a Help:Userspace draft. Edit/save at your own pace until you think it will survive mainspace, then see Wikipedia:So_you_made_a_userspace_draft#Ready!. Don't WP:COPYPASTE (unless you MOS:QUOTE), summarize the sources in your own words. And avoid WP:SYNTH.
- Review WP:GNG and HELP:YFA. You'll need more sources, and the more WP:RS they are and the more they focus on the topic the better. Try to find at least 3-4 good ones, if you manage that, GNG shouldn't be an issue, and it is often the critical one for new articles. Is this a good one[1]? I'm no lawyer, but your source hints at being California-specific. I'm not saying you should cover the whole world from the start, but consider articles like Medical malpractice and Medical malpractice in the United States. Your article doesn't have to be long from the start, but it seems like it could be in time. Compare this article I started in mainspace like this [2] with how it looks now (I was lucky though, other people did most of that).
- WP:TEAHOUSE is a good place for asking general WP-questions, more specific ones in this case might fit at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Law. I hope this helps! Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 06:29, 16 August 2019 (UTC)
- You are always helpful to me. I'll read the like you provided later this week when I have time. I have to decide if making this page would be a worthwhile use of my time that would be a help to the public. I don't want to get too complex with the page, and I can see how it might get that way, but surgical assault ought to be part of the dictionary. --- I have one other unrelated question. Is it permitted for me to have two Wikipedia accounts so that I separate the medical editing from other lighter topics that I'd like to edit or create pages for? Thanks again. Juliet Sabine (talk) 07:19, 16 August 2019 (UTC)
- Good question. Per my understanding of WP:SOCKLEGIT, you should not have separate accounts for that reason. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 07:48, 16 August 2019 (UTC)

- I recently created 2 new articles, Marlowe portrait and Jack Hadley (and editing Gold toilet was fun), perhaps looking at those can give you some ideas. There are good semiautomatic tools for making the refs look pretty, see Help:Referencing_for_beginners#Using_refToolbar and WP:REFILL. Think of your intended audience as this guy. - Hi Gråbergs Gråa Sång! I've been so busy that I haven't had to follow up with this yet, but I wanted to thank you. I look forward to reading your articles and figuring this out when things here slow down enough to do so. Juliet Sabine (talk) 22:07, 25 October 2019 (UTC)
Question - need help
editOn the page of a plastic surgeon, it says that he works for the Medical Board of California, but there is no source for that information. He may work for them, but isn't there supposed to be an official source? Is there a listing of the plastic surgeons who work for the MBC? If not, I suggest the sentence about him working for the MBC is taken down. Thank you. Juliet Sabine (talk) 05:20, 21 December 2017 (UTC)
Some more learningcurve stuff
editSooner or later you´ll probably have use for the secrets of the diff, the ping and the watchlist. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 08:32, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
- Where do I get access to all of the photos that can go on a particular page? Wikimedia is it? Also, can I upload photos from people that I know that give me permission to use their photos? They want their photos shown, but do not want their identities revealed. Is this possible? These are original photos that I have taken. Juliet Sabine (talk) 22:19, 1 January 2018 (UTC)
- Who decides what to put in the SEE ALSO section of a page? Also, what do I do when I click on links and the information is not viewable, or the links are old and broken? Do I think challenge and remove that information? Juliet Sabine (talk) 22:30, 1 January 2018 (UTC)

- Fire away! Either here or on my talk page. I haven't read the Liposuction article in detail yet so I don't have any feedback on your edits there, but can answer any other questions. power~enwiki (π, ν) 05:44, 14 November 2017 (UTC)

- The Liposuction article needs a lot of editing. I plan to edit other pages and create some new pages. I usually only have a few minutes at a time to come on here. I'll be signing off now. I'll ask questions another time. Juliet Sabine (talk) 05:53, 14 November 2017 (UTC)

WP:MEDHOW walks you through editing step by step. A list of resources to help edit health content can be found here. The edit box has a built-in citation tool to easily format references based on the PMID or ISBN. We also provide style advice about the structure and content of medicine-related encyclopedia articles. The welcome page is another good place to learn about editing the encyclopedia.

There are multiple ways to archive old talk threads; the easiest is probably to add a config template as described at User:MiszaBot/config to this page.
Reminder, the WP:LEADIMAGE is staged and misleading. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Liposuction&diff=814768200&oldid=814668375

remove me from Wikipedia
editPlease remove me from Wikipedia. I will not be editing anymore. I found that the information on the topics I care about are misleading and there is nothing I can do to change that. Juliet Sabine (talk) 01:17, 19 July 2023 (UTC)
