Music videos

YouTube links don't belong anywhere on a discography and they are tacky anyway. The album column is only used for sections like singles and guest appearances. See Depeche Mode discography for example, along with literally every discography I've cleaned up and expanded over the past year. Infex (talk) 22:40, 25 December 2013 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Video links "Linking to online videos can be acceptable if it is demonstrated that the content was posted by the copyright holder or with their permission." The links are linked to rightful copyright holders and are relevant to the discography, also some music videos to songs are not singles so how to people know unless they check through every album to find the song? The only column I understand that is ok to delete would be the type of music video but that tells the audience what music video that is since they all have their differences, so the links and albums should remain at most since they are relevant. @Joeyismusic: All of the references that are there are reliable and do not degrade the articles strength, and also some of the references, such as the Property Of Zack website, are classed as unreliable. If you want to re-add them then please do so, however please take note of the list of reliable sources. Although these are for album articles, they pretty much apply to most musical articles. @Joeyismusic: As I just said, the sources on the article now are all reliable, by adding more sources we are only backing up what already exists. The reason for the removal is because it would have taken me too long as I completely re-organised the tables, making them sortable and so on, and the sources provided did not have the details on them, such as the website, date accessed, author etcetera, so If you feel as though it needs more sources, then you are welcome to add them yourself, I do not see any problems with the current formatting. The Hunting Party genre

As I said in the edit summary, it is okay to have a generalized genre (hip hop, rock, metal, pop, electronica), until the album is released as long as it is not very controversial. Such as, you would not be able to do that for bands like Gorillaz, due to the experimental nature of their work. Linkin Park however, have repeatedly said it will feature a rock sound (seemingly dropping all that electronic crap), so we can say rock until the album was released and people wanna argue about whether it is rap-rock/alt metal/nu metal/alt rock etc. Until then, rather then have a not very informative infobox, we can add rock, since they are a rock band afterall. No worries brother, it is all good. I can completely understand why you removed it if you had not seen my edit summary. Also thanks for tagging all the uncited content on the Motionless in White page. In the future you can also tag the page with Template: Refimprove, or Template: BLP sources (for BLPs), for pages that are severely lacking in sources such as that one, rather then going through and tagging every single uncited statement. However, it is good to still tag extremely controversial ones singularly even if you use the template. As for what you just added, yeah maybe that is just on me for not listening to the whole albums, I only listened to the singles. Maybe I just prefer their rap-rock/nu metal work way more. Yeah me too, one of my all time favorite bands. As for GATS, too much guitar and not enough Mike Shinoda in my opinion lol. It sounds too much like generic, mainstream hard rock, even though I do enjoy the song's refrain. I also wish they would have left more room for Rakim to spit a full on verse, instead of a rushed bridge. All in all, it is a decent song, but I have faith that the album will be better. @STATicVapor: I completely agree, very generic and I also though Chester didn't use his usual vocals, he seemed to have been putting in a similar vocal technique to that of Stone Temple Pilots opposed to his Linkin Park vocals, to be honest I could have mistaken GATS as a STP song if I wasn't told that it was Linkin Park, but I too have faith in the album. Unfortunately the file is replaceable, there are various different images floating around of the band but none of them are free to use. Should it be deleted? The problem with your edit is that they contain both good and bad edits: on the one hand you have nicely organized sections like the "repercussions in social media", and on the other hand you removed well sourced content like genres, and you left your favourite version of the genres unsourced in the infobox. In that case your means of simply reverting the whole thing is simply a bad edit, instead of making corrections where I may have gone wrong, you instead revert the whole thing, despite the improvements, that's just lazy editing. Please elaborate I don't understand what you are trying to say. I do approve of the images just that the logo seemed to have fitted in the history section more than the infobox, if you disagree by all means move it back, I just think an image of the duo themselves would be better in the infobox. Sorry man it's just that people have been adding and removing that same image over the last year, I don't understand why you wouldn't replace it with something more suited after removing it is all. As for the approval comment, I don't understand why people keep removing the unreleased section from the article. "Gimme Chocolate" wasn't a single. See the talk page (the part that was already archived). I've explained there that Japanese artists often release music videos for albums. It's like this: 1. Physical CD sales are still big in Japan. 2. On a new album, they try to include some new song that stands out as a hit. 3. In order to promote the song (and the whole album) they shoot a music video for the song. As I said, by promoting the song, they promote the whole album. 4. Hi Dan, if I'm right. About the term "Radio Edit" for "Guilty All the Same" by Linkin Park, perhaps it's time that I realize that you and Serge were right, even STATicVapor. Next time, please be kind and positive to me about the subject, not offensive. I would sincerely appreciate that. My apologies for the way I acted in the past, but when I download the song from my laptop, I never use the term "radio edit". Instead, I continue to use "Radio Edit" because it's the right punctuation for a version of a song by a musician or a band. I never had a reason why I didn't want "radio edit" to appear on the article. It was difficult, in fact. I hope that we can get along and get to know each other again sometime in the future. And if you want to, please leave a good message on my talk page, like Golu7276 does from here on out. I will remove them if they are offensive or threatening.
