Welcome to Wikipedia! edit

Hello to myself, I welcome myself to Wikipedia!

I noticed nobody had said hi yet... Hi me!

If I feel a change is needed, I feel free to make it myself! Wikipedia is a wiki, so anyone (myself included) can edit any article by following the Edit this page link. Wikipedia convention is to be bold and not be afraid of making mistakes. If I was not sure how editing works, I have a look at How to edit a page, or try out the Sandbox to test my editing skills.

I might have liked some of these links and tips:

If, for some reason, I was unable to fix a problem yourself, I feel free to ask someone else to do it. Wikipedia has a vibrant community of contributors who have a wide range of skills and specialties, and many of them would be glad to help. As well as the wiki community pages there are IRC Channels, where I would be more than welcome to ask for assistance.

If I have any questions, I feel free to ask myself on my talk page. Thanks and happy editing, -- ₪ SETH GECKO ¥ Give me a conversation ƒ My Contributions ¥| ₪ 18:05, 21 November 2007 (UTC) Reply

Photo dispute edit

I think Seth will go to Wikistress 5 if you don't stop removing the picture. PLEASE stop getting rid of the picture in the info box; Seth will get very stressed if you don't. --172.188.114.97 (talk) 14:45, 1 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Piczo edit

Hi,

I've made some pretty major edits to piczo. Existing info was either un-noteworthy or, at worst, just a long ad for Piczo and I couldn't help but notice that a lot of your edits were suspiciously similar to passages found on Piczo info pages. All in all I think that what I've done creates a good base from which to add worthwhile info as, I'll be the first to admit, the article is now a little bare. Orphaned non-free media (File:Face-book.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading File:Face-book.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:06, 12 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Face (Benjamin Zephaniah) edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Face (Benjamin Zephaniah), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

artice contains no claim to notability; text is incoherent, no sources provided or verifiable information.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. File permission problem with File:Benjamin Zephaniah.jpg edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Benjamin Zephaniah.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 01:08, 25 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of User:The Rastafarian Named Seth edit

A tag has been placed on User:The Rastafarian Named Seth requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
