Thanks for uploading File:Bgcci logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. Nymphaea question

edit

Hi, I see your changes about Nymphaea nouchali being the state flower of Bangladesh, and that you aren't changing some material that I'd previously altered about it being the white form. The Hossain et al. article about the various species in Bangladesh was something that I'd added to show that several species that grow in the country have white flowers, but the constitution seems to specify the species only, and nothing about the colour, at least in this English version. The species Nymphaea nouchali rarely has white flowers, they are usually blue. What do you think, is this "white-flowered" statement something peculiar to wikipedia, that should be completely eliminated? Best wishes, Sminthopsis84 (talk) 20:46, 23 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

You are right, The English version of constitution only specify the species, but later the color of national flower was specified in several de facto documents and important materials! The white and red Nymphaea nouchali are most common in Bangladesh while the blue-flowered are common in Sri Lanka and southeast asia and this "white-flowered" statement is important, as many people mistakenly use many other white waterlilies[[1]] as national flower of bangladesh! Your talk page participation

edit

Samudrakula, here's some advice for you: you need to cut down on your use of exclamation marks in talk pages and in edit summaries. You have a very bad habit of ending almost every sentence with an exclamation mark. If you think they are making your arguments more compelling, you are wrong: they are not. Instead, they give the reader the impression as if you were hysterically screaming all the time.

Please remember the warning I gave you the other day about aggressive conduct on talk pages [3]. This impression of screaming is part of the overall picture of aggressive and unconstructive conduct, which will get you sanctioned if you continue. Fut.Perf. 05:33, 26 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

If you have problem with my exclamation marks use, then make an advice, rather than threatening on my talk page. You are threatening second time on my page! unexpected from an administrator! never heard that exclamation marks indicate only hysterically screaming! if so then i will reduce it immediately! Samudrakula (talk) 10:30, 26 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
Hmm, it seems you didn't [4]. Seriously, try reading what you wrote. Maybe, as a non-native speaker, you don't really have the feel for how it comes across, but I'm telling you, it comes across as screaming. Now just try substituting every exclamation mark in that last posting with either a full stop or a comma. Try reading it again, with the eyes of an outside uninvolved reader. Will it sound less convincing? No, it will sound a good deal more convincing. In fact, it will begin to sound almost like a reasonable talk page contribution. Fut.Perf. 11:56, 26 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello Samudrakula. I've just noticed that you're currently involved in an edit war at List of wars involving the United States. Instead of edit warring, please discuss your edits on the talk page so that you can come to a consensus about what to do. If you keep reverting without discussion, it is quite likely that you will be blocked from editing. I didn't see any previous warnings about edit warring on your talk page, so I'll leave you a standard message below. Please let me know on my talk page if you have any questions about it.   Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be engaged in an edit war with one or more editors. Although repeatedly reverting or undoing another editor's contributions may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, and often creates animosity between editors. Instead of edit warring, please try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. While edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, breaking the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block.
