Hello, I'm Tanbircdq. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions to Awakening Records because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page.

If you would like to edit/add to the article then do so but do not revert/remove other editors edits as you did here. You may also want to explain your edits in the summary if you want them to stick. Tanbircdq (talk) 18:41, 18 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Raef may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
 • Raef Haggag (رائف حجاج ; born 1982 is an American Egyptian singer

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, BracketBot (talk) 10:13, 25 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Awakening Records

edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Awakening Records‎. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

 1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
 2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Again. Tanbircdq (talk) 21:00, 18 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

A little bit of advice

edit

For future contributions please ensure that the content is not promotional, does not contain original research, is written from a neutral point of view and is supported by verifiable reliable sources. I would suggest that before attempting to add sources or edit articles, please read the following pages below;

Also bear in mind WP:COI and WP:SELFPUBLISH. Tanbircdq (talk) 21:00, 18 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

I completely endorse this. I've gone through the article and removed material that doesn't meet with our policies and guidelines. In any case as an editor with a major conflict of interest you should not be editing the article directly except for very minor changes but suggesting changes on the talk page.   Welcome to Wikipedia. At least one of your recent edits, such as the edit you made to Awakening Records, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at the welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make some test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. File source problem with File:Hamza Namira Concert.jpeg

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Hamza Namira Concert.jpeg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. This image is being deleted today, as have not provided any evidence that the copyright holder has given permission for the photo to be uploaded to this website. -- Diannaa (talk) 23:05, 29 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Conflict of Interest; removal of sourced information

edit

Your removal of sourced quotations of the subject of the article about his dispute with Awakening Records and sourced information about his change of label ("In mid-2009, he signed a five-album contract with the UK-based record label ETM International.") at Sami Yusuf with the edit summary "deleted nonconstructive information" has been reverted. If you think there is good reason to remove this information, please explain on the talk page.

Your edit history strongly suggests you are affiliated with Awakening Records. Please review WP:COI. Given your organization's dispute with Yusuf, you should be particularly careful in suggesting edits to that page, but should also avoid adding promotional content to other articles or directly editing the article on Awakening Records itself. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 10:38, 21 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

If you believe that there is too much attention being given to the dispute, that's a valid point to raise on the article's talk page. If you think that the dispute is one-sided in the article, that is also a valid point to raise. That will allow uninvolved editors to look at your concerns and consider how best to address them. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 10:50, 21 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
I agree with that. Could you please tell me how to ask other uninvolved editors to consider that point?
Yes, you put a note on the talk page of the article explaining your concerns. Talk pages are where editors discuss articles and their evolution. Generally, if there is no response, you can propose what you would like to change with a note next to your request formatted like so: Request edit. This tells people that you have a conflict and so do not wish to edit the article yourself, but would appreciate review by someone else of your proposal. To begin with, however, you should simply open a discussion to see if active editors object. In terms of the sourcing, please note that self-sources are not forbidden; WP:SPS explains that they may be used within articles about the subjects themselves in some circumstances. We don't remove content simply because it is referenced to the subject itself, although there is sometimes valid reason to remove content that is referenced to the subject itself. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:23, 21 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
User:Moonriddengirl, there is not a strong suggestion of affiliation with Awakening Records, it is a clear affiliation as User:Salmats2al confirmed here that she works "as a PR and Online Media Manager at Awakening". I would also suggest reading WP:UNDUE as well regarding what information is relevant for inclusion an article and what is not. Tanbircdq (talk) 00:30, 22 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Mesut Kurtis concert.jpeg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Mesut Kurtis concert.jpeg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

 • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
 • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add OTRS pending to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as non-free fair use or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. January (talk) 19:50, 21 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thank you. An email was already sent yesterday with a proof of license.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Hamza Namira, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page AUC. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:21, 28 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Draft:Harris J concern

edit

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Harris J, a page you created, has not been edited in 6 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:33, 12 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Draft:Harris J

edit

Hello Salmats2al. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Harris J".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the db-afc or db-g13 code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: , paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 01:44, 12 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
