Submission declined for article Jackson Yi

edit

Hi Aerospeed, I noticed that my article was declined for lack of references, which was unexpected and confusing to me. My article has around 60 sources, including news/reports published by Tencent and Sina, which are both among the most authoritative influential media and entertainment companies in China. This is my first time creating a wikipedia article and it would be really helpful if you could let me know which of my sources are not verifiable?

Billy the Kid

edit

Hi, I've just taken on the GA review of Billy the Kid, and I am concerned at the poor state it is in. Having looked at the history of the article I note that your contributions to it have been fairly minimal: [1]; also, that the article has changed considerably since you nominated it with no further involvement from yourself. Because the topic is quite big, there is a lot of background reading involved in addition to the analysis of the article itself. I do work closely with nominators to bring articles up to GA level, so would be willing to do the work needed to help you or one of the significant contributors get it to GA. Though as there is a lot of work to be done, I'd like some reassurance that either you or someone else would be doing the work I suggest needs doing. If you feel that you no longer have the time or energy or willingness to get involved, then let me know, and we can close this GAN. SilkTork ✔Tea time 19:27, 13 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

I am closing the GAN as the article is too far from meeting GA criteria, and has clean up and citation needed tags on it. Generally it is better to nominate articles that you have worked on yourself, and feel meet the WP:Good article criteria. If you'd like some help with understanding the GA process, get in touch, and I'll talk you through doing a review, and in building an article to GA status. At the request of the original editor (a friend) I have made further edits including changes to the footnotes. Before submitting this article for publication I would like to get your review to find out if the article in its present state corrects the reasons for it being originally declined. To be honest, I'm not sure I understand the reason for it being declined - that's why I'm requesting a review prior to attempting to publish. Thanks you.
