Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice that Goldsworthy Biography, a page that you created, has been tagged for deletion. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

  • It is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. (See section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Wikipedia has standards for the minimum necessary information to be included in short articles; you can see these at Wikipedia:Stub. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
  • It covers a topic on which we already have an article - Vesna Goldsworthy. (See section A10 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Vesna Goldsworthy, or to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Your Teahouse request

edit

Hi, please provide the complete link of the page you want deleted in your user space and I'm happy to do it for you. Your user page doesn't include an article. You have some sandboxes, but it isn't clear what you want deleted. You have these:

Let me know. ~Anachronist (talk) 01:33, 15 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, the User:Oldsilenus/my sandbox page is not needed.108.29.88.204 (talk) 01:40, 15 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thanks a million! Your suggestion took care of things. I've made a note of how the title should look for when I need it again.Oldsilenus (talk) 02:10, 15 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
I deleted 'my sandbox'. Do you need User:Oldsilenus/Talk:Talk archive/Archive 2 (it's just a redirect) deleted now that it's at a new name? ~Anachronist (talk) 02:45, 15 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
No. Please feel free to delete that page. When I open my account I have a copy of the Herman Armour Webster article there. I am very interested in Webster and probably put it there some time ago. Unfortunately it is marked Article. It does not show up if I search user:oldsilenus so I can't point to it (send you a link). If I ask on the page for it to be deleted the system thinks that I want the Wikipedia article deleted. I have asked for this page to be removed in Teahouse, but it has not been done. Perhaps because it cannot be found. Is there any solution for this?Oldsilenus (talk) 16:08, 15 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for deleting that Artile page! Oldsilenus (talk) 17:12, 15 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Help me!

edit

Please help me with... I am writing a BLP of Vesna Goldsworthy. I realize the BLP is should be balanced. Her written works have received much praise, eg. Book of the Year, Book of the Month, etc. There have been, of couse, some reviews with negative comments. These are in the minority. Does a balanced approaph include information about these comments as well? In particular she wrote a nonfiction book, and some reviewers questioned her viewpoint. I am not an expert in the area covered, and it is difficult for me to evaluate their comments. Should they be included? I would like to note that Timothy Garton Ash included this book as a referencee in one of his articles.Oldsilenus (talk) 19:17, 31 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi, and welcome to Wikipedia! The neutral point of view policy essentially means state all viewpoints. Also, make sure all claims are backed by reliable sources, as this is important for BLPs. You might want to take a look at Wikipedia:NPOV tutorial. If you have any more questions, either use the {{Help me}} template again, remove -helped from the template, or ask at the Teahouse. ~~2NumForIce (speak|edits) 20:29, 31 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

I'll take it as a compliment, but
