White stork edit

Hi Nick: It would be very helpful if you could put the date (year?) for which your new white stork numbers are known. Otherwise, they will quickly be out of date. Thanks! MeegsC (talk) 18:39, 26 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

The site of the Community for the Protection and Observation of Birds in Serbia state that there are between 1,200 and 1,400 pairs in Serbia. I have also found one of the most recent news article (July 2023) talking about White Storks breeding pairs being around 1,350 in Serbia (1,100 in Vojvodina region) from the last population records from 2014 and 2015. That was before the massive increase of breeding pairs at the location of the Rodić Megamarket at the outskirts of Novi Sad, where between 2014 to 2022 to 2023, the number of breeding pairs went from 3 to 32 to 52, almost every concrete column having a nest with several young. The number of breeding pairs increased significantly due to the favorable nesting options (old abandoned concrete construction columns), and feeding options (close to natural swampy lake and city dumpster). So the numbers stated by the organization are reliable for recent years, far more up-to-date than the 2004/05 white stork census in Europe that is mentioned for all the other countries. Ill update the numbers to 1,400 and add the additional news article reference commenting about the numbers. Nickpunk (talk) 19:55, 26 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of City Assembly of Novi Sad edit

Hello Nickpunk,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged City Assembly of Novi Sad for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

I fail to see how its illegal to use official text from governmental sites of Serbia. They should be public domain because according to the Copyright Law of Serbia
"Work is not copyrighted if the work is:
Laws, decrees and other regulations;
Official materials of state bodies and bodies performing public functions;
Official translations of regulations and official materials of state bodies and bodies performing public functions;
Submissions and other documents presented in the administrative or court proceedings."
Assembly regulations do not differ between cities in Serbia, so thats why Belgrade page was used as a template for further page editing and alteration. Do what you think is best, but no copyright infringement was intended from my end. Nickpunk (talk) 01:10, 27 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, Nickpunk, but apparently the City of Belgrade does not agree with you. In any case, when copying content from one Wikipedia article to another, please ensure that you provide attribution of your source; this is required under our Creative Commons licence.
