@Floquenbeam: Regarding your query on WK's talk,

If you replace the following /\{\{REMOVE THIS TEMPLATE WHEN CLOSING THIS AfD\|\w+\}\}/ in the script with

/\{\{REMOVE THIS TEMPLATE WHEN CLOSING THIS AfD\|(\w|\?)+\}\}/, it should solve the issue. Twinkle adds a question mark to the template {{REMOVE THIS TEMPLATE WHEN CLOSING THIS AfD|?}}, whereas the existing regex only matches for alphanumeric characters and underscore.
