Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Secretary General of the Lok Sabha into Lok Sabha Secretariat (India). While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa (talk) 14:56, 1 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. ⋙–DBigXray 16:17, 25 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi - I wanted to give you a bit more information about why I moved this article to draft space. Articles have to meet our verifiability and notability policies; this is particularly important with biographies of living people. Your article had a single reference, which only gave the subject a passing mention - almost none of the information in the article could be verified using that source, and it was not sufficient to demonstrate that the subject was notable. Please try to find more independent, secondary and reliable sources that give significant coverage to the subject, and remove any information which cannot be verified with sources, and then resubmit your article. Thanks! GirthSummit (blether) 17:54, 29 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Important Notice edit

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Hello, Manasbose,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Akhiljaxxn and it's nice to meet you :-)

April 2020 edit

Hello, I'm Tayi Arajakate. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Mamata Banerjee seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Tayi Arajakate Talk 15:21, 24 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi,according to Wikipedia general rule, do not remove sourced information from the encyclopedia solely on the grounds that it seems biased. Instead, try to rewrite the passage or section to achieve a more neutral tone. Manasbose (talk) 15:40, 24 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please go through the policy on WP:BLP, you seem to have been engaged in edit wars with multiple editors with none seeming to be interested in discussing the addition. Per policy however, the onus is on you to establish a consensus for any addition of content. I removed part of your addition whose sources did not establish any explicit link with the subject. Tayi Arajakate Talk 15:59, 24 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

I've only reverted edits who completely removed an entire section calling it "unnecessary". I haven't reverted your edits because you've given a valid reasoning and I'll try to rewrite the section considering your opinion (if I do rewrite). And about building consensus, those editors used abusive words for me and other editors, in simple words they were "trolls". How can someone build consensus with trolls? Recent edit reversion edit

In this edit here, I reverted some information that appears to be a violation of our copyright policy.

I provided a brief summary of the problem in the edit summary, which should be visible just below my name. You can also click on the "view history" tab in the article to see the recent history of the article. This should be an edit with my name, and a parenthetical comment explaining why your edit was reverted. If that information is not sufficient to explain the situation, please ask.S Philbrick(Talk) 18:00, 5 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi Sphilbrick. I understand my last edit on the list of president segment fell under copyright violation. But you reverted not just my last edit but all the other edits which you reverted are already in public domain. Can you please revert them back which are already in public domain. Thank you. Manasbose (talk) 18:13, 5 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Manasbose, It is our practice, when encountering a copyright issue, to use Rollback, which does undo all consecutive edits. I undid my Rev del temporarily, so you can undo my edits, then do whatever you wish to remove the problematic material. Let me know when done, and I will reinstate the Rev Del. S Philbrick(Talk) 01:00, 6 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
Manasbose, I also did the undo. S Philbrick(Talk) 01:16, 6 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
