Hi there!

Hi there, Tshiels1. Just a quick note to say well done on all the work you have been putting in with the NZ news personalities, etc. HOWEVER I notice that some of them have been speedily deleted/tagged for speedy deletion. If you are unaware as to what this entails, it means that they have been targeted because the do not meet at least one of the criteria for speedy deletion. Clearly, a major point of this for your articles will be notability (as many other Wikipedians from bigger countries around the world may not see NZ news readers as important) and providing reliable sources. To get around these, it may be best to begin work in a user subpage before uploading it to the mainspace. Creating these is fairly easy; if you have problems with it let me know and I'll give you a hand! Oh, and one last thing: Typing With Every First Letter In Capitals is not how things tend to get done in the English language, and may result in other editors being less lenient with unsourced articles, etc. Anyways, keep up the good work! I'll be around if you need someone to talk to -- THE DARK LORD TROMBONATOR 07:12, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Re your message: which page is this? -- THE DARK LORD TROMBONATOR 07:39, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
OK, so you've done nothing towards the deletion of Owen Poland, which is probably a good thing as this article does not deserve to be deleted. We have established notability (awards) and backed them up with a source. What this article does need is some categorising down the bottom. If you want to help out, you could check other TV personalities' articles and see what fits this guy. Oh, and one more thing - you inadvertently wrote over another user's comments on my talk page. Please be more careful about these sorts of things. -- THE DARK LORD TROMBONATOR 07:05, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of ONE News London Bureau

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article ONE News London Bureau, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? -- THE DARK LORD TROMBONATOR 04:51, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

ONE News

Hi. Yes, I did delete it and I think I may have already given my reasons for this on the article talk page. Really, listing every person here is the same as listing every employee of a company. The list takes up most of the article, and even if the links were blue, the articles would probably be deleted on account of their Notability, or lack of it. The important people, presenters and such like, are already listed within the article. However, if you want to reintroduce it feel free. If you can work it so that it is not a trivial list of information, I won't revert you. -- THE DARK LORD TROMBONATOR 09:23, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

Tony Veitch

Hi, you left a comment about the Tony Veitch article. I will continue that conversation here on your talk page if that's o.k. - please reply here. I'll take another look at the article when I get a chance, but please be careful with controversial material that is unsourced. Without those sources, the policy is to remove those controversial statements from biographies of living people. It might pay to cut down some of the details of the allegations against him too, otherwise the article becomes unbalanced. People can read the links if they want to.

It might pay to take a look at the pages on Footnotes, so you will know how to add the sources and if you are editing articles about people then the policies on Biographies of living persons is a must read too. --Xagent86 (Talk | contribs) 06:29, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

Thank-you, I think it is reasonable as it uses words such as 'alledges' or 'The Press says' but I'll try and look at it.Tshiels1 (talk) 06:32, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

O.k. I'll leave it to you to update, but my main concern wasn't the allegations as such, but a question of balance of the whole article. The current version makes it looks like he was born (we don't know when or where), he got a job at Radio Sport and ONE News, he got an TV award and then spent the remaining 80% of his life assaulting his partner. I know that wasn't your intention, but maybe this one aspect of his life should only be a small part of the article. Keep up the good work on the NZ TV articles and let me know if you need any help with adding sources or anything else. --Xagent86 (Talk | contribs) 07:07, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

Yeah but is there anything else that is notable? I will add info about previous experience etc. from TVNZ's website.Tshiels1 (talk) 07:26, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

Re:ONE Sport

Hi Tshiels1 - I probably won't be doing any cleanup on the article, though it's tagged now so it should get cleaned up at some point soon hopefully (and it'll also be listed on the New Zealand new articles list sometime soon). Feel free to make whatever additions you want to the article - any improvements would be, well, improvements :) Grutness...wha? 07:33, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Thank, Tshiels1, for your continued contributions and also the barnstar you recently awarded me. Let me further my "random acts of kindness" by teaching you about the helpful tool that all logged-in editors can use: the edit summary field and the minor edit box. These help other editors understand what you are doing without needing to view a diff. A good example would have been here. For clarification of what constitutes a minor edit, and what to put in your edit summary see the Wikipedia pages WP:MINOR and WP:ES. Keep on wiki-ing! -- THE DARK LORD TROMBONATOR 08:24, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of "Greg Boyed"

A page you created, Greg Boyed, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how they are important or significant, and thus why they should be included in an encyclopedia. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and the guidelines for biographies in particular.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Thank you. Josh3580talk / hist 06:38, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the Barnstar

I don't consider myself to be a major contributor to New Zealand politics articles, but I remove bias when I see it.-gadfium 02:18, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for mine as well. -Rrius (talk) 01:09, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Eye to Eye with Willie Jackson

A tag has been placed on Eye to Eye with Willie Jackson requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Themfromspace (talk) 07:01, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

NZ election

Hi, I've noticed you've updated a couple of pages to reflect the result of the New Zealand election.
