Hi Brother!

What new projects are you planning? I have seen a few articles for improvement in our mutual subject interests that you may be interested in (tease :)). You know how the project is, there are dark, untrodden trails that have not been revisited for years. I always laugh when colleagues say most subjects have been covered. There are still vast gaps. I shall be on and off intermittently for the next three weeks, holiday with my beautiful lady mostly, but will be able to give much more time by end of sept. I hope all's well! Simon Irondome (talk) 00:37, 31 August 2015 (UTC)
Hey brother, thanks for the message. :) Well, as you know, I'm mostly planning on editing the main SS article these next few days. I'm guessing it will swallow up most of my time once I/we really get started. I agree, there will always be large, unfiled gaps in our mutual interest. I will also be semi-inactive the next month or so as I'm currently writing and shooting a short film. Wish both you and your lady a happy holiday. Peace! :) Jonas Vinther • (Click here to collect your price!) 11:56, 31 August 2015 (UTC)
Jonas I already started on it; it is in my sandbox; but, am happy to transfer the first sections I finished over to your sandbox, so you can work on it further. Kierzek (talk) 13:04, 31 August 2015 (UTC)
Ah okay, Kierzek, no problem. You don't have to transfer sections over to me; I'll just drop and maybe ce the sections you finished. As for the other sections, have you transferred the whole article to your sandbox or are you doing it each section at the time? In any case, I can start the sections you're not currently doing and we could check up upon each others work. What ya think? Jonas Vinther • (Click here to collect your price!) 14:39, 31 August 2015 (UTC)
Okay Jonas. I finished these parts crossed-off (and took the redundant pieces out of later sections and incorporated them accordingly:
I. Origins of the SS
a. The SA and forerunners of the SS
b. Early commanders
c. Himmler takes over
II.Ideology
a. culture
b. uniforms
The ideology and culture section could use some further ce.
Otherwise the article is open; watch for the redundancy to take out. Kierzek (talk) 15:48, 31 August 2015 (UTC)
Sounds good Kierzek, but as you now know, my dream with this re-organization project would be to improve the article very close to the GA-criteria so I might be a bit perfectionist-like, but I guess you kinda' expect this by now. :) Jonas Vinther • (Click here to collect your price!) 01:01, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
I can copy and paste over to you (to a sandbox - do you have a blank one) what I have done above and you can take it from there, for now. Kierzek (talk) 14:39, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
Sounds like a good idea. Sorry, my sandbox (or sandboxes) are not blank atm, but you could post it all here: User:Jonas Vinther/SS article. Jonas Vinther • (Click here to collect your price!) 15:58, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
Done. Kierzek (talk) 16:31, 1 September 2015 (UTC)

Ian Fleming

Just curious about your contributions which helped it to FA? CassiantoTalk 11:21, 21 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi Cassianto! I didn't help bring the article to GA-status or FA-status. It's simply an article of FA-status which I significantly contributed to. The icons on my userpage represent articles I contributed to one way or the other. Peace, Jonas Vinther • (Click here to collect your price!) 11:58, 21 September 2015 (UTC)
I think you're over-egging the "significantly contributed to" line there a little bit. From what I can see, most of your comments were opposed. CassiantoTalk 12:05, 21 September 2015 (UTC)
Long live agree to disagree. Cheers, Jonas Vinther • (Click here to collect your price!) 12:06, 21 September 2015 (UTC)
So I trust you'll be removing the star from your page then? CassiantoTalk 12:18, 21 September 2015 (UTC)
Why should you trust that? It's a star added by my definition of article contribution! Don't you think you're overthinking this? Jonas Vinther • (Click here to collect your price!) 12:21, 21 September 2015 (UTC)
No. If I went around adding gold stars to my page, I'm sure to piss off those who spent months researching and writing about the subject in order to get pulled from pillar to post at FAC. Do you not see that displaying featured articles under the heading of "Contributions" will A) Make people think you were responsible for writing that article (which you're not); and B) is misleading bearing in mind there were no "significant" contributions from you? I don't want to come across as prissy here, but imagine adding your name on to the end of a finished book, would that be allowed? CassiantoTalk 12:30, 21 September 2015 (UTC)

Some of my own FA/GA listings I put less work into than others, but if I think the contribution is still something, even if more minor I'll add a note saying it's minor additions or copyedits. I think it's best to avoid implying you're a major article contributor if you're not, and state "minor additions" or "minor copyedits" by it. There's hundreds of articles of course I've helped copyedit and added to but don't consider myself a contributor so haven't listed it on my user page.♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:35, 21 September 2015 (UTC)

Since you guys cared enough to make up all this crap, I'll remove it. Jonas Vinther • (Click here to collect your price!) 12:46, 21 September 2015 (UTC)

I didn't make anything up. See my user page. Articles I don't consider myself a major contributor to I leave a note by. If you feel like you've made minor contributions of value it's up to you in listing it. Is does help though if you make it clear you're not the primary article writer or person who promoted it so as not to offend anybody!. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 13:13, 21 September 2015 (UTC)

I understand. It was more a figure of speech! Jonas Vinther • (Click here to collect your price!) 13:21, 21 September 2015 (UTC)
Jonas, you have done a lot of good work herein. Dr. Blofeld in his comment states a good way to think about one's effort and input. We all can point to articles where we have done a little or quite a lot but don't necessarily list them under "major contributions", etc. I know I always think long and hard about it before I list contributions on my page. I have seen where people list articles they have "contributed to" and that could be a secondary category you may want to consider. Anyway, carry on and try to get along as we are all in this thing of ours, together. Cheers, Kierzek (talk) 02:00, 22 September 2015 (UTC)

Dear Jonas, dear Obenritter, I don't really know why the edit that I was pointed to was removed. Replaceable fair use File:Map displaying the 4,000 km of trenches dug by the Voronezh Front of the Red Army during World War II in preparation for the Battle of Kursk, 1943.gif

Thanks for uploading File:Map displaying the 4,000 km of trenches dug by the Voronezh Front of the Red Army during World War II in preparation for the Battle of Kursk, 1943.gif. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 13:51, 15 October 2015 (UTC)

Article upgrade assistance request (Pre-translation stage)

Seasons Greetings,

This is in reference to a relatively new umbrella article on en-wikipedia named Ceremonial pole. Ceremonial pole is a human tradition since ancient times; either existed in past at some point of time, or still exists in some cultures across global continents from north to south & from east to west. Ceremonial poles are used to symbolize a variety of concepts in several different world cultures.

Through article Ceremonial pole we intend to take encyclopedic note of cultural aspects and festive celebrations around Ceremonial pole as an umbrella article and want to have historical, mythological, anthropological aspects, reverence or worships wherever concerned as a small part.

While Ceremonial poles have a long past and strong presence but usually less discussed subject. Even before we seek translation of this article in global languages, we need to have more encyclopedic information/input about Ceremonial poles from all global cultures and languages. And we seek your assistance in the same.

Since other contributors to the article are insisting for reliable sources and Standard native english; If your contributions get deleted (for some reason like linguistics or may be your information is reliable but unfortunately dosent match expectations of other editors) , please do list the same on Talk:Ceremonial pole page so that other wikipedians may help improve by interlanguage collaborations, and/or some other language wikipedias may be interested in giving more importance to reliablity of information over other factors on their respective wikipedia.

This particular request is being made to you since your user name is listed in Wikipedia:Translators available list.

Thanking you with warm regards Mahitgar (talk) 05:30, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
