Serious buisness

edit

Well, there's no reason to link to a one line 'essay', really; links from the mainspace are usually reserved for policies, guidelines and other heavily used project space pages. We don't normally include topics on disambig pages that don't have their own articles, so the last one can go. And we don't need to link to Wictionary for "Serious" and "Business" individually; those links would belong on the articles for the individual words. -- Vary | Talk 17:12, 22 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your once-over. I'll look into implementing your changes and ask the other admins who appear to watch Serious business. --Damian Yerrick (serious | business) 17:19, 22 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Requested move

edit

On Jitse Niesen's talk page it was determined that a full deletion review is not needed to unprotect Serious Business and Serious business and move this disambiguation page there. --Damian Yerrick (serious | business) 13:32, 23 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks to all admins who helped with my project: reviewing AFDs, reviewing PRODs, and reviewing disambiguation. Now I can get on with the my business improving the encyclopedia. --Damian Yerrick (serious | business) 15:09, 23 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'd like to see a reliable source that links "Internet" with "serious business". Please take into account the guideline Wikipedia:Reliable sources. --Damian Yerrick (talk | stalk) 14:13, 27 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

The "internet is serious business" meme does not belong here unless it is referenced in another article, or it could be reasonably expected to be the subject of a currently red linked article. That is not the case. None of the sources in the commented-out section are even close to reliable sources and neither WP:DAB nor MoS:DAB give any accommodation for the indulgence in these kinds of entries. Jones, Susan (2008). Business-to-Business Internet Marketing. Maximum Press. p. 64. ISBN 1931644691. The internet is very serious business. Skomorokh 18:28, 13 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Did we really just add "the internet is serious business" meme here? Ignoring the fact that the phrase is essentially just a neologism, this disambiguation page is for the noun "Serious Business," while the source in question uses the phrase "very serious business" as a descriptor. Using this logic, we could well add North Korea to the Gulag (disambiguation) page because an article in the Foreign Policy magazine describes it as "the world's last gulag."
van Houtryve, Tomas (2009-04-20). "The Land of No Smiles". Foreign Policy. Tomas van Houtryve entered North Korea...the world's last gulag
Even the Wiktionary article on Internet does not include this meme, and they have much lower standards for inclusion than Wikipedia. — Kralizec! (talk) 19:25, 13 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
Since it has been a day and a half with no objections, I am going to employ the R part of BRD and remove the internet meme from this disambiguation page. Please feel free to use the D aspect if you disagree. — Kralizec! (talk) 11:25, 15 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
