Thanks for uploading Image:Atlantabbctvcbbc.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:AtlantaCBBCTV.jpg. License tagging for Image:AtlantapicCBBCTV.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:AtlantapicCBBCTV.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 13:06, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

What I'm unsure about is these two photographs have been on Wikipdeia for a long period now, though previously on the page Atlanta Liverpool Boy Band, they are my own personal copyright and this information was submitted and we have never had problems until it has been raised once more. I did then supply the information again, but the warning still exists? Atlanta Liverpool Boy Band 06:46, 20 October 2007 (UTC)JBS

Your username edit

Your username is in violation of Wikipedia's username policy, because it can be reasonably viewed as being used for the purposes of promotion. Normally, your account would simply be blocked to disable the use of the inappropriate username (with the idea that you could continue to edit, either anonymously, or after creating a new account). However, since the article you created is up for deletion and you've taken part in the discussion, blocking you could interfere with that, which is more important. Nonetheless, your name is inappropriate, so you should pick a new username and file a request to change at WP:CHU (may I suggest User:John B. Sheffield, which isn't taken, since you've willingly identified yourself?) Mangojuicetalk 14:18, 19 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

That is most helpful, but would it not hinder engine searches on such as "google" and here on Wikipedia when fans look for Atlanta, okay they knew me as John but not by my surname? - I had no problem identifying myself as in the commercial radio music industry, I have a good reputation. Thanks for all your help Atlanta Liverpool Boy Band 06:39, 20 October 2007 (UTC)JBS

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thanks again for this advice, I am doing that now. I have used computers since the mid 80's as the radio station I worked for 21 years with was the first to go computerised in the UK, but I still found Wikipedia like a mine field to understand and still do in some ways, but help is most appreciated always Atlanta Liverpool Boy Band 06:43, 20 October 2007 (UTC)JBS

Deletion review/Content review edit

Hello. Regarding your note at Wikipedia:Deletion review/Content review, the section in which you placed your request is specifically to ask that the material in the deleted article be made available for you to review, not that other editors review it and consider overturning the deletion. The version deleted was substantially the same as that currently stored at User:Atlanta Liverpool Boy Band, with the exception of the external link section, which I have now added to that page. If you wish to request that the decision to delete be reviewed, please follow the instructions here. Thank you. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:38, 25 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

I would like to thank you for your advice and help, which means a lot to all of us at Atlanta. Being new to WIKIPEFIA though I have used it as a reference site for long period, I find it like a "minefield" all the rules, regulations and how to work around the entry base. We are still going through "review" for the decision to delete be changed, but we need all the help we can. I thought Wikipedia would be like a community and help each other more, but for a few that has not been the case. Many Thanks John B Sheffield 16:24, 26 October 2007 (UTC) JBSReply

Thanks for taking time out to advise me, I hadn't seen that I needed to that. I am still trying so hard to find my way around and any help means a lot. John B Sheffield 16:25, 26 October 2007 (UTC) JBSReply

User name change edit

I saw at Wikipedia:Changing_username/Unfulfilled/2007/October#Atlanta_Liverpool_Boy_Band_.E2.86.92_Atlanta_.28Boy_Band.29 that you had a question as to why your requested username change was not done. My understanding is that the proposed name User:Atlanta (Boy Band) was considered too promotional a name under the policy Wikipedia:Username#Inappropriate_usernames. In addition, the use of a name that sounded like it was a band name could be interpreted by some to be a role account, that is, an account meant to be used by more than one person, which is not allowed. In any event, since you adopted the username User:John B Sheffield instead, it was no longer necessary for the proposed username change to be done.

Please note that I personally have no authority over whether you or any other editor can change their username. That takes a Wikipedia bureaucrat, which I am not.

Also, please note that the status of your username was a completely separate issue from the status of the article about the band, Atlanta Boy Band, which was deleted. To use an analogy, Wikipedia has an article about The Beatles, but an editor who wanted to go by the username User:The Beatles would not be allowed to do so, even if it were Paul McCartney who wanted to register that name. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 07:26, 20 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
