The Vidic languages are a branch of the Indo-European language family spoken natively by around 3.5 million people.[nb 1]

Etymology

Vidic comes from the common ethnonym of the Taerinian peoples, reconstructed in Proto-Vidic as *witʰətᶿōr.[3]
