M.I.N.D. is transcendental high school that incorporates the idea of transcendentalists such as Henry David Thoreau, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and Margaret Fuller; and modern paradigms such as John F. Kennedy, Mohandas Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., and Leo Tolstoy into the quotidian curriculum. The high school is located on an island called Magnanimous Intuition Island in Indonesia. M.I.N.D. stands for Midnight Institute of Natural Desire. The school is situated in its very own personal island and is therefore secluded in its own area, giving students a break from the prosaic social obligations that comes from living in mainstream society. The uniqueness of the institution transcends the exclusive location and enters the actual method of teaching that sets M.I.N.D. apart from the competition. Here at M.I.N.D., students will apprehend the curriculum at night. During the night, students are given an opportunity to learn in ways not known in other institutions. They will be given an opportunity to explore the world beyond the perceptive senses and will be forced to perceive the environment through their minds. The students will learn behind waterfalls, in caves, near volcanoes, and on mountains in our private sanctuary.In M.I.N.D, students are given a perspective of the other side, a place that they are to shape as their own, and a place to experience working in an actual societal group where they will learn to work with other members of a fully functioning society as they make and shape decisions that influence their very lives. The students will be given problems and issues and will have to be able to solve them the transcendentalist contrivance. Students will be taught to incorporate the ideas of Tolstoy and Thoreau into their daily lives and will be put in situations where they will have to act like Gandhi and Luther to change what they see as erroneous. All these axioms will be instilled with no expense to the students education. M.I.N.D. aims to produce well rounded, transcendental students who will be able to change the world around them in socially accepted, radical and manners.

Vision Statement

Midnight Institute of Natural Desire , aims to produce will rounded students, experienced in all fields such as mathematics, natural sciences, and intensive readings and especially divulged in transcendental belief, philosophy and method. Our main goal is to create distinguished individuals to go out in the world and to become an important part of contemporary society. They will in turn began to influence the world in positive ways and be able to shape the future for the better.

Essential Courses

Essential Courses that the students must complete will be The curriculum will be tailored to meet the transcendental philosophy and essentially to every student. The student will be able to experience what they believe is essential education and will always be given the opportunity to participate in the ever changing curriculum.

Grades and Discipline

The students will not be physically graded but will be in fact held to a measure of expectations. They will be put in situations, in which they will be expected to use what they have learned to affect their surroundings and change their situations. The staff of M.I.N.D. will not be evaluating the students based on tests and other exams. Physical percentage grades and letter grades will not be administered. The staff will merely provide the students with all the information that they need to learn and the students will choose what they hold to retain and enthusiastically learn. In accordance to transcendental philosophy, M.I.N.D. does not teach the students from a set textbook and aims to teach externally in what the teachers see as fit. In the aspect of discipline, the students who cause a disturbance in another student's learning will be put in seclusion for a while. The student will be given time to reflect by a beautiful waterfall. The next day they will be integrated into the mainstream population of the school.

Faculty

Our faculty here at M.I.N.D. are only the most qualified, and naturally experienced individuals, who teach at this exclusive institution. They all believe in the transcendental philosophy and are able to exercise the ideas in a way to influence the children and impart many of their techniques. The staff are also very liberal in their belief and are very enthusiastic about incorporating the ideas and theories of the students into their ever changing curriculum.

Physical Layout

The school will include many majestic locations. Natural landscapes will encompass the island. Mountains, forests, waterfalls, volcanoes, and many water bodies. The layout of our school will be one to give the students a feeling of serenity, security, and composure. The layout will definitely provide various locations for students to be able to ponder and reflect their daily lives and essentially about the world; what is important, and what would be the most essential ways to passively change what he or she views as wrong or erroneous.
