Helen Wong is an associate professor of mathematics at Claremont McKenna College.[1] She was a von Neumann Fellow in the School of Mathematics at the Institute for Advanced Study.[2] She has received the Joan and Joseph Birman Fellowship for Women Scholars for 2021–2022.[3] Wong is also a 2021 Simons Fellow.[4]
Professional career
editWong received her BA in mathematics from Pomona College in 1999. In 2003, she received her MS and MPhil in Mathematics from Yale University. Wong received her PhD in mathematics from Yale University in 2007. Her dissertation, SO(3) Quantum Invariants: Density and Topological Applications, was supervised by Andrew Casson. two-year postdoctoral fellowship at Bowdoin College

Awards and honors
editIn between finishing her undergraduate degree and starting at Yale, Wong received a Fulbright scholarship in 1999-2000 to spend a year at the Budapest Semesters in Mathematics program.[3][5]
During Wong's time as a graduate student at Yale University, she received the 2006-2007 Yale College Teaching Prize.[6]
She became a Project NExT Fellow in 2009. (Need citation!)
She was a von Neumann fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study from 2017-2018.[2][3]
Wong was announced as a Simons Fellow in 2021.[4][7]
She was also awarded the Joan and Joseph Birman Fellowship for Women Scholars for 2021-2022.[3][8]
