Week 2 Article Evaluations

  • Sentence Processing
    • This article talks about ambiguities, theories, models, and methods in language processing. I noticed that this article needs more citations, especially under the "Ambiguities" section. However, this article does a good job at providing a neutral point of view and everything in the article is relevant to the article topic. Although the material is supported by credible sources, some of the references are incomplete. This page received a "B" rating. I think this is because the article could have more information in each of its sections, and some of the sections have little to no citations.
  • Psycholinguistics
    • The majority of this article talks about the theories and methodologies of psycholinguistics. What sticks out to me the most is that a few of the subparts in the methodologies section are underdeveloped and/or lack citation, namely the "Language production errors" and "Neuroimaging" subsections.
  • Parsing
    • Although this article acknowledges that parsing is involved in both psycholinguistics and computer science, the article mainly focuses on the computer science aspect. This article also lacks citations. The article also switches between both aspects, so that the article lacks organization.
  • Language Production
    • This article is about stages, models, aspects, and research of language production. in This article also mentions that this subject is involved in both psycholinguistics and computer science, but this article mainly focuses on the psycholinguistic aspect. This article lacks many citations overall. This article maintains a neutral tone, but much more information could be added. The "Research into production" section does have some citations, both of which are published research. This article does not have a rating.
