User check not working edit

The "search an, ani, cn, an3" doesn't work, at least not here: Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/JHunterJ#General comments. The built-in search finds nothing, but then doing a non-regexp search for "JHunterJ" finds my two ANI discussions. -- JHunterJ 02:12, 11 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

The regexp is deliberately designed to exclude your sig from the results; the idea is to find ANI threads about you, not just ones you participated in. --ais523 08:43, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

Which counter? edit

There are currently 2 counters by Interiot, the wannabe_kate one and the count_edits one. The count_edits one included deleted edits, shouldn't that be the one included? I mean, if someone tags 500 articles for speedy, and they all get deleted, that will hurt the applicant by people with editcountitis. How does that sound? SPI edit

{{editprotected}} to cater for the move to SPI from SSP and RFCU, we need to add an SPI link (but retain SSP and RFCU for now).

Please add the following after ssp

What's lu for? edit

Hello, I transfered this template to the Spanish wikipedia and made some changes. I don't yet understand the purpose of the lu field, can somebody explain it to me?, thanks and regards, --Poco a poco...¡adelante! 22:41, 16 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please change {{documentation|template:user/doc}} to {{documentation}}. This will allow the interwiki links, and documentation, to be set for this template. DH85868993 (talk) 07:19, 19 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

  Question: Why not use the technique found at Template:Merge/doc? This carries the interlanguage links for Template:Merge from and Template:Merge to in addition to those for Template:Merge. --Redrose64 (talk) 12:46, 19 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Separator edit

I just created Template:Usercheck-short/sandbox to experiment with why the separator parameter wasn't working for me. I now see that it's apparently unsupported. Are there other templates which take this form which could be adapted for use here? Thanks. -- Trevj (talkcontribs) 08:47, 10 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

As the generic doc page is Template:User/doc, perhaps it's never been implemented here. -- Trevj (talkcontribs) 08:52, 10 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
I guess that trying to adapt it to use {{User-multi}} wouldn't be any good because of the external links. (Apologies for the monologue - I should've investigated further before posting.) -- Trevj (talkcontribs) 09:03, 10 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Template-protected edit request on 4 October 2014 edit

[//tools.wmflabs.org/supercount/index.php?user={{urlencode:{{ucfirst:{{{User|{{{1|Example}}}}}}}}}}&project=en.wikipedia count] needs to be changed to [//tools.wmflabs.org/xtools/ec/?user={{urlencode:{{ucfirst:{{{User|{{{1|Example}}}}}}}}}}&project=en.wikipedia count] because the edit counter has changed. Many templates and pages like MediaWiki:Sp-contributions-footer have already changed the URL. Thanks, --AmaryllisGardener talk 13:23, 4 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • AmaryllisGardener Placing this on hold for a day for any other feedback. Unless you have any reason why this external tool is official, and or why it "needs" to be changed. Both of these tools are working, so this is an editorial change - nothing is broken. I really don't care and we can process this, just want to make sure there are no editorial complaints about this to avoid multiple changes here if not needed. If there is a technical reason this shouldn't wait then please ping me back. — xaosflux Talk 16:00, 4 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Add SUL? edit

Now that SUL finalization has completed, I propose adding an SUL link to this template and {{Usercheck}} that would link to Special:CentralAuth/Example. Are there any objections? --Ahecht (TALK

AfD stats edit

I have cobbled together a link to the AfD stats tool at Template:AfD count link and linked it to this template. Since it sits alongside the edit count tool on Labs, I can't think of any good reason not too. The main use is at RfAs, where every one (at least those that don't fail WP:SNOW / WP:NOTNOW) I have ever seen pulls up a candidate's track record at AfD. I realise the toolbox has a link; I just felt it was worth putting up front as I feel it's used so often in these cases. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 13:06, 1 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Template-protected edit request on 21 February 2018 edit

Please remove links to deprecated RFCU and SSP processes. [[Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/{{ucfirst:{{{User|{{{1|Example}}}}}}}}|rfcu]] · [[Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/{{ucfirst:{{{User|{{{1|Example}}}}}}}}|ssp]]

These processes have been deprecated and merged to currently used SPI since 2009. I have always wondered why these ubiquitous redlinks where ever the template is used. –Ammarpad (talk) 04:32, 22 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Template-protected edit request on 1 August 2023 edit

Please remove the urlencode magic word from the edit count link template, i.e. please change

{{Edit count link|{{urlencode:{{ucfirst:{{{User|{{{1|Example User}}}}}}}}|PATH}}|linklabel=count}}{{int:dot-separator}}

to

{{Edit count link|{{ucfirst:{{{User|{{{1|Example User}}}}}}}}|linklabel=count}}{{int:dot-separator}}

The urlencode is unnecessary because the {{edit count link}} template already puts the username parameter through a urlencode magic word. The template is currently broken for users with spaces in their name, as the space is escaped twice in this part of the template - the first time turns the space into %20, the second time turns the percentage sign into %25, producing %2520. See the result of {{Usercheck-short|example 2}} below for an example of how this is currently broken.

Template-protected edit request on 1 August 2023 (2) edit

Please remove the line related to WP:RFC/U for the same reasons the requests for checkuser and suspected sock puppet links were removed - this is an obsolete process that was discontinued 9 years ago and is essentially guaranteed to be a red link. This edit would involve deleting the line:
