Removal protocol
editHi, what is the protocol or etiquette regarding removing an update template after updating the information? It might be good to include this information in the template itself. 20WattSphere (talk) 00:06, 25 June 2022 (UTC)
- I personally agree with the above. — Mr. Guye (talk) (contribs) 07:30, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
Fix accessibility

I note that the images used in this template do not have a link. However, they do not have alt= set to mark them as purely decorative, which is an accessibility issue. Please make the following change to the template: diff —TheDJ (talk • contribs) 20:16, 29 January 2023 (UTC)

Add a "subsection" param, similar to "section" param. Qwerty284651 (talk) 14:54, 14 February 2023 (UTC)

- @Qwerty284651: Just use
{{Update|section|date=February 2023}}
- I consider that the distinction between sections (level 2 headings) and subsections (levels 3 through 6) is not great enough to warrant extra code. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 18:16, 14 February 2023 (UTC)
Update please
editPlease update this covid 19 template page as I need it for my course deadline. 2607:FEA8:9DD:B900:B4FF:E327:B111:F9EE (talk) 20:31, 9 July 2023 (UTC)
"those related to section"
editIf you visit Template:Update/testcases and search for "those related to section", you'll see some templates that are using bad grammar. I suggest changing that to "those related to this section", or removing that entirely. Would do it myself but is a bit complicated because the same code is also used to generate "those related to documentation", which is correct grammar and doesn't necessarily need to be modified. Thanks. –Novem Linguae (talk) 07:45, 12 August 2023 (UTC)

In the "Usage" section there's a typo in the template. It says "Updated is used to mark entire articles or entire section...". ("Updated" is the typo, should be "Update"). Betsy Rogers (talk) 08:58, 5 October 2024 (UTC)
- Done, but you can edit the documentation on your own. It's unprotected and located at Template:Update/doc. That's usually the case for the template documentation subpage. You can use the 'edit' link at the top of the green "Template documentation" box to edit the documentation subpage. SilverLocust 💬 09:45, 5 October 2024 (UTC)
