Problem with Milan Metro map

edit

Hello, the article for the Milan Metro uses this template, but the map remains blank. All the lines exist in Wikidata, with the right property P361 and they are all associated with a OSM relation. Can anybody help me figure out what is the problem? Thank you. --Ita140188 (talk) 02:48, 11 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Problem with Toulouse Tramway map

edit

Hi! The same happens for Toulouse tramway, being the lines T1 and T2 (Wikidata Q3239230 and Q16655787 items) connected to their corresponding items at OpenStreetMap. The map is also blank. It would be great if somebody could tell us why this happens. Thank you. Enekorga (talk) 20:35, 12 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

I have also encountered this issue with Ion rapid transit. Sadly the documentation is really lacking for this template. When I look at the particular examples, I notice that the Frankfurt example no longer has a functioning OSM relation (it has been deleted) and the Moscow one has a KML template file which 1:1 corresponds with the displayed transit lines, including their colours. Therefore it is my conclusion that in the Moscow example, the KML file is itself likely the source of the shape data. My suggestion would be to create a KML file and see what that does for you. Showing only a specific line

edit

Hello @REEDriler, thanks for the modifications, they seem to be working at least on frwiki. Have you succeeded in managing a selection of a specific line? Eg S6 Zurich only ? Plus, have you managed to show the stations as single dots ? Bouzinac (talk) 15:09, 5 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Bouzinac Greetings. Yes, they can be accessed by using |single_line parameter. The alternate query enabled via single_line param also works for lines linked to a system/network via P361 property. So this query works best for showing specific lines and then City rail Networks having specific lines such as Airport Links which are most times part of(P361) the network. eg: {{Rapid transit OSM map|system_qid=Q7283953|single_line=y}} would also show Airport Link in addition to lines having to transport network(P16) → BTS, MRT.

For stations, it looks for items connected to lines via connecting line (P81) property and would show pics as the description if it exists. See this use: [1] Map showing MRT lines but then zoomed into Gold Line showing only its stations. The Zurich S6 stations use connecting service property, should this be added as an alternate path? REEDriler (talk) 16:04, 5 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
I was thinking about using System's icon as the marker but seems like the only icons that can be used as marker are these . The default marker i've chosen is rail-metro. And also if the alternate query can be used as default which would eliminate the need of |single_line param but then I am not sure about the fastest query when opening the map as full screen. REEDriler (talk) 16:13, 5 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
Perhaps try querying wdt:P81/wdt:P1192/wdt:P16* ?
You might make it more classy adding https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q685381#P154 (for lines) ? Bouzinac (talk) 16:58, 5 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Bouzinac I added an alt path for the query and tried working on icon for lines in sandbox. MRT icons should be visible for their lines in the map above. The icon size can be varied using |icon_size param. REEDriler (talk) 20:38, 5 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
Its causing more white space in the title though. :( REEDriler (talk) 20:42, 5 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
Nice! You should definitely propose your work to be reviewed and get adopted by https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal_talk:Trains perhaps someone else would have other ideas... For instance, I am not having English as mother tongue but perhaps repeating "railway stations" in the tooltips would be redundant Bouzinac (talk) 20:59, 5 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
transport fan seems natural. I just checked this page on my phone and the map looks sic. no extra space in the title. REEDriler (talk) 21:17, 5 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Marker size

edit

Hello, would it be OK to set default marker size for "small" instead of "medium" ? Bouzinac (talk) 09:03, 6 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

ok REEDriler (talk) 15:02, 6 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Default align

edit

Given this, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S2_(ZVV) , there seems a pb of paging/displaying Bouzinac (talk) 15:14, 12 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Maybe you missed frame-align=left? REEDriler (talk) 06:18, 13 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Why not, but still needs an additional {{Clear left}} Bouzinac (talk) 08:57, 13 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
yes REEDriler (talk) 11:35, 13 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Seoul 1

edit

Hi, wonder why

whilst the gyeongbu line does not seem to be taggued wikidata=Q20280 ? Any clue ? Bouzinac (talk) 14:42, 4 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Title

edit

Hi, title is not displaying, when using parameter text=something... ? Bouzinac (talk) 06:17, 30 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Colours

edit

Why is there an orange colour set- as that is as good as invisible against roads on the maps printed underneath making it all but irrelevant. Example Rotterdam_Metro. Can you immediately notice the Cappelle aan den IJssel --Hook of Holland Line (east-west). Can this be changed? Arnoutf (talk) 19:40, 5 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Add all stations

edit

Hello, it'd be useful to add a parameter to show all stations on the whole network, not only about one specific line as is permitted with stations=y. Bouzinac (talk) 05:31, 22 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
