Thanks for photo_caption bug fix

Many thanks to User:Hike395 for fixing a parameter problem whereby photo_caption text didn't show up in the Infobox. I mistakenly posted the problem via the /doc side (ie. Template talk:Infobox glacier/doc), where the info resides, resolved! Pete Hobbs (talk) 18:10, 10 January 2014 (UTC)

Parameter photo_caption not working

The template parameter enabling photo_caption appears not to work. The Icelandic glacier example shown on the doc page includes a filled photo_caption, but the resulting caption does not show itself in the Infobox alongside. I tried moving an Axel Heiberg Glacier article photo +caption into the article's Infobox that I'd created earlier this evening, but I had to abandon the move because the caption (informative and thus worth keeping) would not appear between the photo and map in the preview.  Fixed --- Thanks for reporting it, it was a simple fix. For future reference, remember to report such bugs at the main template talk page (e.g., Template talk:Infobox glacier) rather than the talk page of the doc Subpage, which might not get noticed. —hike395 (talk) 06:42, 10 January 2014 (UTC)

Thanks, quick work! Also thanks for bug-report advice - I was aware it might not get picked up, but just wanted to ID the error here for speed, to chase via the main TT page in 48hrs if no response. BUT NOTE - although I've no reason to doubt the fix (I'd test it but I'm too tired to redo the AH Glacier template tonight) - is there any reason why the template doc example caption STILL doesn't show? It's at Template:Infobox glacier/doc#With a map, where the example indicates a photo caption of Gígjökull, Eyjafjallajökull's largest outlet glacier covered in volcanic ash should now be showing if fixed?

Thanks again! Your fix confirmed - I've now 'photo+caption'ed the Infoboxes in Beardmore Glacier and Axel Heiberg Glacier articles accordingly, and captions show fine. (Caption also now shows in the Template:Infobox glacier example, although still invisible on the Template:Infobox glacier/doc version - possibly an oddity due to transcluded bits? I refreshed the doc page using Control+F5, but it made no difference for me... Not important though, as it shows fixed in the template mainpage). Apologies for all this via the Infoglacier/doc/talkpage, I didn't realise I wasn't on the main Infoglacier/talkpage! and had thought to chase after 48hrs via a general Templates/help-request page if need.. I see now that I took a wrong turn upfront into the /doc side! Thanks again - and I'll post a short note on the main Infoglacier/talkpage just to wrap things up. Pete Hobbs (talk)

Additional parameters

Location parameter ignored

I have set the location in Chaba Icefield but it is not being displayed in the infobox. RedWolf (talk) 18:15, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
