Template talk:Infobox famine

Country

By Country in this infobox, what exactly is intended? Is it sovereign state, or is the term being deliberately left ambiguous? Applying the term Ireland at both Country and Location at Great Famine (Ireland) seems to evade the obvious question of where the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland fits into the scheme of things. The corresponding terms at Holodomor are Soviet Union and Ukraine, which seems to be inconsistent.RashersTierney (talk) 09:47, 5 November 2010 (UTC)

The "Country" field is supposed to be populated with the name of the sovereign state. "Location" was supposed to mean a region or a state or a province within the country. For another sample, separate from Holodomor take a look at Bengal famine of 1770. Ireland might be an exception to the rule here. I am only aware that there are several pending issues/problems when it comes to Ireland related nomenclature but I'm not sure of the details. Perhaps, the location field can either be left blank or be populated after a discussion/consensus on the respective talk page? Zuggernaut (talk) 01:10, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for reply. The example of 'Ireland' in the template is probably poorly chosen if 'sovereign state' is the intended meaning at Country. It would negate any meaningful debate at the relevant TP re. the appropriate entry at Great Famine (Ireland) by appearing prescriptive. RashersTierney (talk) 02:56, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

Image size

Does anyone know how to increase the image size when using this template? I'm trying to increase the size in Bengal famine of 1943.

Is this image= {{#invoke:InfoboxImage|InfoboxImage|image=|upright=1 restricting the size, and if so can someone help to change it? I'm reluctant to fiddle in case I break it. SarahSV ^(talk) 00:50, 4 March 2018 (UTC)

Memorial field should not be shown as 'Website'

Seems like the 'Memorial' field is shown as 'Website' when rendered. There might be actual non-website memorials that would be listed there and if done so the field will show 'Website' which doesn't make sense.
